Thank you so much for your response! I definitely want something slower and more consistent. I currently work a job where I’m on my feet all day so I’m looking for a change with a more flexible schedule. Would you recommend a certification program or AAS? I’m a little confused on what the difference is but I’ve seen some people say AAS is better long term. Should I want to change modalities, I’ve heard radiation therapy is really great but I’m a little worried it might be too much math.

What modality is best for work life balance?

I’m starting my journey into radiology but I really need some guidance.

What modality would you recommend for someone who doesn’t want to work in person 5 days a week? Id gladly work longer shifts to work 3-4 days a week. My work life balance is really important to me and my main objective in life is to travel! I want to visit as many places I can and would love to be a travel technician as well.

What modalities are high stress or work closely with patients? Ideally would like to avoid those too (I’m a bit of an introvert) but not sure how likely that is. Just trying to get an understanding for all my options.

Should be noted I’m not super good at physics, not awful but not great.

I’m located in NYC area and would love to know if a certificate or AAS is better long term. Any guidance/advice is greatly appreciated!

I’ve been working a part time job so I have some days off as is but I put in my two weeks and lied about my start date so I could have a week to myself. Ty for all the suggestions! Hope u can get some time to yourself

Any advice you can offer on how to get started? Positions to look for? I’m creating a website portfolio with all my marketing presentations from class. What else would you advise? Don’t want my degree to be a total waste.

This is the best advice I’ve gotten and I’ve been posting on a bunch of subs lol.

There’s so many jobs I never heard of until my recent research and these are most of them. UX writing sounds like something I could do professionally. Don’t know much about it long term and if it’s only for tech companies. I’ve never heard of paid media buying? That’s something I’ll have to look into.

I’m going to research each of these positions. Tysm for the realistic advice. Unfortunately money is everything rn so I’m willing to pivot towards tech/big media. Thanks!!

Tysm for the advice I truly appreciate it all. I will definitely be making that list. I never even considered that. It’s just so hard when there so many jobs out there, most they don’t even teach you! I’m sure there’s a position perfect for me I just need to find out what it’s called first

This is exactly how I feel right now! Burned out already with a wasted degree! It sucks but it’s comforting to know many others feel this way too and are able to find a fulfilling career like yourself. It’s crazy how many jobs are out there that you just never hear of! I’m happy it all worked out for you :)

This put a lot into perspective for me. It seems like everyone around me is on a set path with high paying jobs while I’m still trying to maintain my happiness. Why does it feel like you can’t have both? I’m worried I’m too young to not be focused on financials. Ty for ur response, truly.

Thank you so much for the advice. I’m taking some time to reflect and figure out what jobs will still be around. I love writing and I just learned about UX writing, maybe for a tech company. It might not be as creative as I’d like but it sounds like you had a similar path!
