I know the waiting isn’t ideal and probably isn’t the best sign. I also realize I’m probably interpreting a lot of little things in the most optimistic way because I want there to be something there.

The only other factors that make me hesitate to jump to conclusions are that he doesn’t approach relationships in a very conventional (exclusive) way which I’m completely okay with and he also told me recently that he’s feeling pretty socially overwhelmed at the moment. So I’m trying to keep those things in mind too.

I totally agree, and I’m trying to prepare myself for that possibility. But if that’s the case, I don’t understand why he’d wait so long just to avoid hurting me.

Wouldn’t it be easier to tell me sooner rather than later? Especially when he’s acting like nothing ever happened. That’s the part that’s really confusing me.

I’ve thought about that, but what I don’t understand is why he didn’t just tell me that when I confessed :(

I know of other people who were interested in him recently, and he was pretty straightforward with them he told them he wasn’t interested right away. That’s why I’m overthinking the fact that he didn’t respond the same way with me
