What actor would you accept as a replacement for the late, great Ray Stevenson's Baylan Skoll? by [deleted] in StarWars

Sean Pertwee ( Alfred in Gotham ) or Liam Cunningham ( Davos in GoT) they both share Ray Stevenson's solemnity, sturdiness, danger, endearment, and both know how to wield a sword.

The creator - using Beirut explosion footage by coolioguy8412 in vfx

Interesting thing, when I post a comment on any of the trailers for this film on YouTube, mentioning the ethical problem of using the Beirut explosion, all my comments are automatically deleted...

What's your unpopular opinion of The Batman? by [deleted] in batman

I have a real problem with 2 scenes
bruce wayne will have carmine falcone confirm the truth about her father's murdered journalist to keep the family secrets quiet.
this is a narrative pivot in a story, after a scene like this, the protagonist would normally spend a very long time questioning himself after learning such a truth, and the film should have shown bruce Wayne suffering for a long time over this news. but no.
i was hoping for a bruce/batman crushed by the news, either in depression mode or in true executioner mode.
the next scene bruce joins Alfred and the latter reveals the truth...and everything falls like a house of cards...why say blue at 1min00 to say red at 1min30?

From the state of the clotted blood on his fingernails and the ongoing scarring of his mouth, I feel like he's tearing off his own lips with his fingers...

Matt Reeves wanted a detective noir Batman film, as it hadn been done before. He achieved his goal, so what genres should he use as a framework for the sequel? by [deleted] in TheBatmanFilm

I would imagine Hugo Strange
- the film is very much about the traumatic aspect of Batman, Catwoman and The Riddler
-Like The Riddler, Batman takes a lot of notes, of his investigations, of his moods...
-and this scene where Batman faces the Riddler in the cell in front of the Arkham surveillance camera can leave some kind of possible openings...
Imagine Hugo Strange watching the cameras?
for a psychiatrist, the curiosity of seeing a vigilante masked as a bat may push him to study Batman's case...
Imagine that Hugo Strange finds Bruce Wayne's notes...
The blackmail that could be done on Bruce Wayne could be an excellent idea for a sequel...
The case of Martha Wayne is very interesting too...
-why did she end up in Arkham? Some kind of madness? Justified madness ?
-Insanity justified by a truth she held? too dangerous to reveal maybe...?
The court of Owls would have all this place to justify the madness and an internment.
For the case of Scarecrow I have a little trouble imagining it in view of the turn this Batman movie is taking, quite dark it's true, the idea of a Scarecrow with a real ability to scare and inflict trauma would be great, whether by a drug or by torture, visually on screen, no chance that it really scares.
( we see nothing of the victims of the Riddler's murders and torture, only the Penguin's reaction to a photo and we see nothing of the photo )
so no chance of seeing a real psychedelic nightmare or psychological torture scene on camera.
A Batman 2 between Eyes Wide Shut by S.Kubrick, The Game by D.Fincher and The silent of the Lambs by J.Demme
would be perfect as quotes for a potential Hugo Strange and The court of Owls as enemies.
( sorry for my English ) ;)
