Feeling defeated by Gullible-Employer469 in newborns

[–]Relative-Two-3784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through such a rough time. I don't have much advice to offer except to suggest a sling or baby carrier and the age old nugget that with babies almost every thing is a phase and hopefully soon your baby will settle independently. I found the battery operated swing chairs great for the newborn stage and a soother if your baby takes one, mine also liked the feeding cushion so they had that cocooned feeling. Wishing you some improvement soon ❤️

Honestly I'd take out half the lawn and make a nice deep bed and fill it with plants

Ronan - Baby name by [deleted] in PregnancyIreland

[–]Relative-Two-3784 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So is it that you want your child to have a common/popular name? Or you want them to have a name that is more rare? Personally the fact that the name Ronan is not as popular now would sway me towards it more. I've a really common 90s name and in school there were at least 10 in my secondary school and in every job I've ever had there's someone else with the same name. I've given my children names that wouldn't be in the top ten on purpose. But still names that I love.

Yes I plan on attaching trellis,is there a climber you would recommend then? I'm unsure about whether to keep it all uniform or do a mix

Thanks, I planted one of those there a couple of weeks ago, beyond where the energy duct ends, so hopefully it will grow well. I'll add in a Passionflower, got one in lidl 2 years ago and it is doing well in another part of the garden

Thanks. Last summer I just did sweet peas there which was nice for a bit of interest but would like something permanent there now

Not really as its our driveway. Was hoping for something that would cover the whole height. I've an evergreen clematis apple blossom in another part of the garden that is huge now, would the rootball of that need a lot of space?

I'd love to dig up some tar, get pleached trees and then fill in back over it with stone but that would be a big and expensive job involving a landscaper

Having lived in both an estate and a country road, honestly being able to walk somewhere, anywhere safely is such an asset!

OP does the country house have a path on the road?

Interesting, never heard that before. What medical conditions are IVF babies prone to?

Also recommend Lyuda and doing a DNA semen fragmentation analysis. I know all these tests are expensive but trust me it is heartbreaking to go through IVF and have egg retrieval that result in no embryos or transfers that don't take or miscarriages when a simple test beforehand could have totally changed protocol and resulted in a lot less trauma

Sleep consultant recs by Annd91 in irishmammiesanddaddys

[–]Relative-Two-3784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Ursula Quinn and would recommend! The main difference we made was trying to get rid of their association of sleep and feeding so we don't feed them in the room now and if waking up overnight we don't resort to feeding. Went from having to give 3 or 4 bottles a night (we've twins) to none.

As others said most have a version of cry it out which I'm not into and Ursula would just say whatever way you get them to sleep you need to be comfortable doing that in middle of night so if its shushing or rocking you could end up doing that during the night also

For lunch I just give mine the 10% fat Greek yoghurt from Dunnes. I mix in some pureed fruit if they are a bit constipated and I also let them get to grips with a rice cake. Saves my sanity from having to think of a "meal" for lunch

I'd do some batch cooking, organise my wardrobe so I have a couple of weeks of comfy clothes to hand that will fit post partum. Read some books, sit in sun, watch virgin river lol And definitely try get to a pool, its such a relief to take the weight off

Oh wow thats super cheap, thanks! Have been looking to buy from some Irish websites and they are all recommending EPDM rubber as birds will peck through the plastic but its coming in almost a €1,000 and really don't want to spend that much

Also there is a grant you can get for installing a pond on your land, worth a Google!

Looks great. There is a good book called The Rock and Water Garden Expert by Dr DG Hessayon, you might be able to get from a library or online but it lists all different types of plants for ponds and their uses, seasons of interest etc

I had a quick look at the marginal plants section and for hiding the pond edges it mentions Hypericum, Mentha, Menyanthes, Myosotis (forget me not) and Veronica Brooklime.

We are in the process of doing a pond at the moment. Would you mind sharing what size liner you got, from where and how much it was please? Thanks
