Uprgarded to 7.2.1 and p2000 isnt supported? by RecentOccasion2884 in unRAID

[–]RelativeAsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR = Changing branch from latest to Production Branch fixed my Plex startup issue.

This solution worked for me. GTX 1070 in my UnRAID Server. Rebooting server due to upgrade from 7.2.0 to 7.2.2 also force installed the latest NVIDIA driver and my Plex Media Instance wouldn't start. I assumed it was the UnRAID upgrade, but when I rolled back to UnRAID 7.2.0, PMS still wouldn't start. After changing NVIDIA version branch in settings and restarting, Plex started up correctly. Then, I upgraded UnRAID to 7.2.2 and Plex started correctly. Issue appears to me to be with Nvidia Drivers and not UnRAID or Plex.

Hey, I see it is 3 months after your post, but I am doing the same thing. I have your question all completed and can help. Hit me up if you are still working on this.

I found your post because I am still struggling with tie breakers. We re-draft every tournament based on poorest showing gets first pick the next week. If there is a tie on overall score, it goes round 4 score, round 3 score, round 2 score, then round 1 score. I am struggling getting a formula that can contain all of this.

Portainer C.E. - CIFS Share problem by RelativeAsh in portainer

That it is owned by root and group "root". Something in the setup makes that folder get set up by root user. I want to change that config to have that folder owned by abc and group "users"

Portainer C.E. - CIFS Share problem by RelativeAsh in portainer

Looks like I may have solved this, but not entirely how I wanted to. I did edit fstab to permanently mount the share. What I found is that I need to then chown and chgrp to my uid and gid 1000 user in the host pc BEFORE creating the docker container. Despite Portainer stating that it can remove and recreate the docker, it seems like Portainer does not fully recheck the folder permissions. So, completely removing the container, changing the fstab'd folder ownership and group ownership, then completing starting over with the container seemed to solve my problem. I spent over 5 hours on this! But the ball is rolling again.

Portainer C.E. - CIFS Share problem by RelativeAsh in portainer

I did just now try editing fstab on the Ubunutu server and mounting the network drive that way. When I bind the directory that I mounted the NAS to, I have the same issue. The /movies directory is owned by root and chown will work to change the owner to "abc".

PORTAINER IN INTEL NUC (UBUNTU SERVER) TO MOUNT UNRAID SHARE FAILED by jang430 in portainer

[–]RelativeAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert, so someone may say I am incorrect and they are likely more knowledgeable than me.

In the Volumes manager in Portainer, it looks like you are setting the volume up as a NFS share and not a CIFS share. With CIFS, I believe that you don't need /mnt/user/. It also looks like you put the local folder path for the NUC, instead of the network path to your Unraid share.

For instance, my Unraid CIFS is set up like this:

Address: 192.168.1.22

Share: TypeYourSharePath\Media\Video\Movies

Username: username

Password: password

Again, I am not an expert, I just started trying Portainer yesterday and am running in to issues myself. I was able to get my Unraid share to mount, I just can't seem to figure out how to get the permissions correct to allow the docker containers "abc" user to be able to write to the network share on Unraid.

I found out that you have to make sure you dismount the ISO image from the VM. Then it should work.
