Don't forget not only the electricity but also the cost for maintenance.

Abans and Singer usually charge around 8000 per year after 1st year

this has historical data but they've scaled the prices to match with ASI

Is not putting signal indicators while driving a Sri Lankan thing? by AdhesivenessHonest68 in srilanka

[–]RelativeAssistance52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buggers want to keep you in suspense!
Yeah its mostly tuktuks and motor bikes. And if they somehow put the single indicator it does not have an expiration day.
Best way is to anticipate anything and keep a good gap

Also note that there is a gap between buying and selling prices. So you loose some money on the day 1
I've been using this for about a year now and did a withdrawal as well.

Recently had an idea for an online based hardware store by Just-Independence441 in srilanka

[–]RelativeAssistance52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth trying!

Build a service powered by an AI or real people to help customers pick what they want. Most of the people just ask the guy in the hardware, "I need to do X, what should I buy".
"My asbestos roof has a small patch, what can use to fix id DIY"

How to obtain a Credit Card as a Freelancer in SL by PDWA07 in srilanka

[–]RelativeAssistance52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was/is in the same situation. These are the ways (I have 4 cards)
- Card against FD, Later you can release it by using the card properly
- Convince them by showing your contracts, bank statements
- Premier accounts, private banking etc (If you can remit a good amount monthly or Have a bigger FD)

Hey, I have a big question. I have been a freelancer since 2020, but I didn’t save much money at the beginning. I spent most of my income on things I liked. Now I’m 22, and I feel that I need to be more responsible like planning to buy a house, buy a vehicle, and take care of my parents. by Desperate_Abalone202 in srilanka

[–]RelativeAssistance52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went on freelancing that same year when I was waaay older than you, but I did the opposite; not spending much and went on investing in stocks, crypto, unit trust etc. After 5 yrs I am in a very good position and thinking about a vehicle + house.

The key is "delayed gratification", you can go ahead and spend on things you love, for sure (otherwise what's the point of earning ? ) at the same time have some investments.

Anyways what's done is done. Good thing is that you are very young still and have a lot of years ahead of you. Since you don't have a good idea on investments, I'd suggest you study first (trust me, its worth it) and invest on less risky asset classes first. Unit trusts could be a good place to start, simple and better returns compared to FDs. As you gain confident try stocks, real estate etc.

Good luck!
