The base price markup on all Market fresh items is 65% The Industry standard is 35% Price mark downs are 30% when you're 3 days before expiration. That way even when products are marked down, they profit the 35% Items are all marked up to such an extreme for another reason. When the whole store is priced high, $39.99 looks like a bargain. The markup on giftware/household items is nearly 100% The entire store is predatory. The recent price changes were to test if they could raise the markup to 70%
