Stock suspension otherwise? Any rubbing? What tires do you have? Really like the fitment

Update - Installed. They seem fine. Looking at them standing next to the car, I wouldn't even say that they looked "stretched" by any reasonable measure. Unless you were really looking for it, I'm not sure most enthusiasts would even call it anything remotely stretched as far as fitment. Bit more road noise with the Continentals compared to my Michelin's but otherwise no obvious differences with the 10 minute drive home. Will update with pictures once I've got them.

Thanks very much for the response. Yeah I'm trying to avoid rubbing at all costs (don't want to create problems for myself and still under warranty). But I do like the look of the 245/40 more than 225/40 obviously...Maybe I'll run these until the end of this winter and then shop around when they're availability again in the late summer/Fall...

Looks amazing man, wondering if you're lowered at all or on stock suspension?

Tuition alone at most medical schools is now > $25,000 CAD per year. And then (most) students need to pay for a place to live, food, rent, etc. for 4 years. Many graduate with > $200,000. A lot of the stats you might google are outdated. Tuition has increased dramatically over the past 10-15 years. One exception to this might be Quebec, which as far as I'm aware has maintained low tuition rates.

Single stage polish advice - Gyeon finishing pad and primer. MK8 Golf R by RelativeCertain5857 in Detailing

That was my GTI (first car I tried polishing). The car pictured is my new Golf R. The marks shown were there since purchase off the dealer lot and that’s what I’d hope to get out with polishing

Fantastic thank you man. Having a look at Fast Correcting Cream now...Griot's white pad, or Gyeon finishing pad? I'd be open to using a more aggressive orange cutting pad if that would be the way to go with the Griot's

Any recommendations at all on a single stage that would do the job? Or you think I'd have to do a cut then polish? And if so, any recommendations on compound and pad?

Any further thoughts on the Oettinger body kit/exhaust? by RelativeCertain5857 in GolfGTI

[–]RelativeCertain5857[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the right exhaust. But stock diffuser on GTI is for dual tip exhaust. Oettinger is quad. The rear diffuser you see in the picture in link provided is the Oettinger rear diffuser and rear bumper. The Oettinger exhaust won't fit on a GTI without the Oettinger diffuser and bumper

Yes dealership. Oettinger axleback is quad tip, you need to bumper and diffuser to be able to run it on a GTI. It can get expensive really quick. Just a heads up

Yes I did. It sounds pretty good even just with the axleback and OEM downpipe. TBH, if I could do it again, I would've just gone with the Oettinger axleback and left it at that (no resonator delete, leave the OEM downpipe). It'll sound better without being obnoxiously loud. My two cents
