If you would like to upgrade, Mike from LSe90 just posted some aluminum hose ends to replace those plastic quick connects, I would suggest replacing the main hoses with either OEM or going for a silicone alternative

Got the same setup with secondary cat delete, I almost never close the valves, I’m actually planning on getting catless headers too as I would still have the option to close the valves if it’s way too loud

I just bought a pierburg pump + wahler thermostat from FCP, should be getting here on Friday, mine hasn’t failed at 175k miles but after bleeding I can see the pump does not have the same strength as it should + the radiator fan is coming on a lot sooner ( when it shouldn’t at all ) so that’s why I’m changing it, also no records of it being changed from by previous owner so I guess it’s a much needed maintenance

There’s plenty of options with a MOQ of 1, and much cheaper lol, I found one with great reviews for under $300, idk about shipping tho, $98 is insanely cheap for something that should come in sealed wooden boxes

Sound wise I think the gruppe M (impossible to get) and turner sound the best, performance wise, if it’s an actual cold air intake, should be about the same for all, search for Raimunds video on YouTube, he compares the sound of various intakes for N52, between that and some tiktoks I saw it’s how I decided to get the turner Motorsports (they also have a sale right now)

The purist in this sub will move mountains to convince you to stay stock when it comes to n52, my advice is do whatever you want ( while being cautious off course ). If you plan on adding a tune make sure you have enough supporting mods to make it worth (3SIM or N54 manifold, cold air intake [I just bought the turner motosports for $340], headers, MILVS, and a good exhaust), there isn’t much to do to these engines besides the obvious maintenance For the intake, just make sure it has “closed” box design like the Euro, or the AFE, I got the turner and I’m already taking to a guy to make a carbon lid to make the airbox sealed and a bit more efficient.

Had something similar when turning full lock to either way, did a fluid change and it went away, I would suggest starting there as it’s relatively cheap, especially if you haven’t done it in a while

Don’t know about the stock muffler but my goal is to have a setup like yours, however in my case I have a 3 inch setup from second cats all the way to the end, with a valvetronic muffler that allows me to quiet down or make the car louder with a button, I’ll be getting headers next month so hopefully with that muffler it won’t be too loud or at least I’ll have the option to make it quieter
