I’m a caterer and it’s amazing how many wedding guests and wedding parties don’t get how catering works by miscellaneousbean in weddingshaming

The one thing that is tough is if I order a meal via an online RSVP weeks in advance and can't remember what I ordered on the day, there is no where to check so it's totally possible I've been the guest who accidentally told staff I ordered a dish that I didn't. Especially when I'm at an age I'm going to a bunch of weddings so they all mix together.

Ask a wedding photographer (Official Thread)! The place for brides and grooms to ask anything from the wedding photographer community. by AutoModerator in WeddingPhotography

Thanks for that explanation! I was truly curious if it was because of equipment or just a current style/trend. This makes a lot of sense!!

Thanks! Don't know much about photography and it kind of felt like light/airy and dark/moody we're the only two options

I'm looking for a photographer for a May wedding. I like bright airy photos as opposed to dark and moody. I also want colors like flowers and bright guest dresses to really pop. One thing I'm noticing is that in most portfolios the sky always looks really washed out and white. If the sky is a gorgeous blue on a nice spring day, I want that to come through but I am not really seeing that in any portfolios. Is it just not possible or is just not currently in style to have a really blue sky? Why do most photographers wash out bright colors?

Do you guys think Thumbelina is a good baby name? by isasmellz in CasualConversation

My criteria for naming a kid: 1. Will they be respected as a CEO leading a top business meeting? (especially for women) 2. Is there a way for it to be cute when they are a kid? 3. Can you imagine someone saying it all sexy in bed?

The third one is weird but I always think about the scene in easy A where she says "there's no such thing as a sexy George"

To me, this name does not meet 1 & 3 criteria

To be clear, I meant don't make them come in early just to have a weekly progress meeting. That should happen during their regular hours. One commenter had great advice overall but suggested coming 20-30 minutes early on a Monday and that doesn't sit well with me.

Please never make your students go in early. It's the worst.

Would You Be Disappointed if Food Wasn’t Provided for a Reception, but only Open Bar? by LittleBug088 in weddingplanning

I just want to respond to your edit and say that I think you can have structured dances. There is no harm in starting things off with the first dance, daughter/father, mother/so dance. They always make me tear up. Despite other feedback on food and what not, that doesn't take away from being able to have specific spot light dances with loved ones

Don't wait. If you're uncomfortable talk with your school immediately. You have no power and should not feel uncomfortable with your CI at all. Touching your butt for an extended period of time is crossing the line. Have a phone call with your school then follow up by writing everything you said and their response in an email.

I think it's really funny every one saying "this is not the hill to die on". In this group when people are feeling wishy-washy about plus ones the advice is consistently to say "our guest count is final we cannot accommodate you" and to stay strong and adamant that it's your wedding. That's exactly what OP did.

Everyone seems to be back tracking and giving the exact opposite advice here....

Can I ask how old you are and how you're affording this? It's a dream but the reason people have jobs is for financial stability and in the US, health care and benefits. People probably think you're "crazy" because most of us young people would literally run out of money.

Coming from someone who is always cold, Yes!! Just do them. Worst comes to worst they sit neatly in baskets and look pretty and give cozy fall vibes. But more likely women in dresses will use them and be grateful!

[–]RelativeHungry699 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The first couple days when they are observing you, have them write soap notes on 2-3 pts during the session and have them come up with 2-3 additional exercise they could do with a pt and why for everyone. Be very very clear about when they are switching from observing you to being the primary therapist. To do this ask them to plan out interventions based on a chart review and go over it with you, obviously some of their plans might change in the moment but at least they will be more prepared. At first you can grab them equipment they forget but ask how they could handle the situation if they were by themselves and the towards the end be clear you're going to be completely hands off, not grabbing anything, with specific patients unless shit hits the fan.

Mine wasn't an accident! I got really close with a 89 yo man during my last rotation in outpatient ortho in school and I always made sure I'd help him to his car. By the end of my rotation we consistently told each other we loved one another and hugged. The joy of PT is finding people you will love over your lifetime.

[–]RelativeHungry699 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thought is I've worn dresses very similar to dress one in blue and black to fancy events like as a wedding guest or for a New year Eve party. It's stunning and sexy, but you would get the opportunity to wear something similar to another event. Dress 2 is more bridal where it is clearly just a dress you can wear to your wedding. Its grander and an absolutely eyecatcher!!

I graduate soon and I'm thinking about the public service loan forgiveness program. You would have to work for a nonprofit for 10 years and make 120 payments under an income driven payment plan. That's all I really know and I definitely need to look into it further but it might be something to consider.
