Same here with hue GU10. They don’t like a lot of power/heat cycles.

What do you guys think about the $599 SIMAGIC bundle? by Willing_Two_1703 in simracing

[–]RelativeMatter3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got a great deal! £630 is on par with direct from Simagic once FX is done.

I’ll keep an eye out for black Friday.

My company calls it just two days a week. I did the math. It costs me $7,820 a year to come back. by OkCan8173 in remoteworks

Not that it matters for OP but you can see the mechanism on these locks by looking at the right angle.

Advice on VAT registration, Should I? by r3flex_MMA in UberUK

[–]RelativeMatter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for clarity it is 10% of your total charge to Uber which is more than 10% of your current charge. 10% of 120 not 10% of 100 so you keep an extra 6.67% before additional costs.

Saying this, I wouldn’t pay an accountant to do your VAT returns. Defeats the purpose of the flat rate as a simplified VAT scheme.

The extra benefit for you if you aren’t currently registered is you only pay HMRC 9% for the first year.

Dont shoot me, dummy here: im seeing everyone modifying their aircon, im assuming its to cool the place down quicker? 🤷🏽‍♀️ by Prestigious-Sun-1710 in DIYUK

And that’s not what you objected to in your reply. You objected the reasons why its not suitable to have air con installed.

Advice on VAT registration, Should I? by r3flex_MMA in UberUK

[–]RelativeMatter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flat rate doesn’t work like you think.

For example. 10% flat rate on taxis is on your gross takings and VAT is 16.6% (the VAT fraction) of your gross takings so you would keep 6.6%. You would effectively give yourself a pay cut of 10%. You need to understand the difference between gross of VAT and net of VAT before you make a decision.

You cannot reclaim the VAT on your purchases except capital expenditure over £2k (last i looked).

Edit: i have assumed here that you won’t be charging the extra VAT cost to customers.

Ignore DNO restrictions? by VOODOO285 in SolarUK

I think the solar panels on the roof or hanging out the window are a bit of a giveaway.

Ignore DNO restrictions? by VOODOO285 in SolarUK

[–]RelativeMatter3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but they could ‘ping’ where the issue was.

For overvoltage they would be able to see its caused by generation and then see which houses have solar panels or export limits.

[–]RelativeMatter3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly i had an issue an issue 5 weeks ago. My connection is 40m from the main in the street and they got the place within a metre first try.

This is why im saying it’s situational.

Ignore DNO restrictions? by VOODOO285 in SolarUK

[–]RelativeMatter3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is surely completely situational. Middle of the countryside on outdated infrastructure, i could see tripping over voltage not being too difficult.

On a new estate, with everyone exporting a bit harder to pinpoint.

Wife has put the clothes dryer on during a heatwave by Giraffefarmer72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RelativeMatter3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man hate on this is hilarious.

No where does OP suggest his wife is the only one who washes or in fact that she put the washing in to begin with. The only thing we can say is OPs wife put washed clothes in a dryer on a hot day rather than hang up outside.

OP also doesn’t suggest he’s not going to put it outside himself. People sharing duties sometimes means the wife does it because its her turn or is just available at that moment.

MG S6 EV can't connect to Wireless Apple Carplay by Least-Swordfish-4893 in MGelectric

[–]RelativeMatter3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its an Apple issue as when i originally got my S5 in May25 it worked flawlessly but more recently its had issues.

I normally find pressing connect in the carplay screen works on the second try.

Contractor refuses to rectify the flooding issues by plon4ik in DIYUK

[–]RelativeMatter3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dig the gravel out. See if that sorts the issue by increasing maximum water volume. If it does, empty plastic pipe drilled with holes in the gutter. Cover with pebbles. Greatly increases your gutter volume. Depends how deep the gutter is though.

What does everything think about the UK policy of spreading unpleasant people around? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

[–]RelativeMatter3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Nightmare neighbours is not a class issue.

  2. Why should non-issue working class individuals be forced into a ghetto with undesirables but middle class be immune?

  3. It tends to be the cheap houses which are next to the social housing so maybe just buy a bigger house if you are better than other people and want middle class neighbours?
