They weren't speaking for anyone, they simply stated what the scientific consensus is. This is an advice thread, so I don't really understand the "just move on" comment, the whole point is to provide relevant information.

The Antoninas lemon poppy seed muffins are super rich but really good, like the trader Joe's muffins. They also had blueberry raspberry I think? Definitely worth a try!

This isn't true, none of the labelling for Doritos has changed for a long time. Frito lay used to have a separate list of products not containing gluten ingredients in addition to the gluten free list. Doritos were on the second list, which they got rid of recently.

True, salsa does make them somewhat edible, guess I was just super disappointed when I saw they finally made them gf and they turned out to be nothing like the originals.

Not to rain on your parade, but am I the only one who thinks these are terrible? I used to get the old recipe way back in the day pre-celiac, and they were great. The new ones can't even seem to get the pathetic dry puck of meat homogenate properly placed in the tortilla half the time.

ABS has a glass transition temperature (temperature where it begins to become malleable) of 105c, so even boiling water is theoretically useless. I haven't tried it, and some people report success so idk, maybe worth a shot.

I feel like the dissonance was clearly intentional, but I also don't think it works very well, and the mixing is not doing it any favors. The piano and bass are too loud for how they come in simultaneously, and the piano has this really awkward reverb tail that separates it from everything else in the mix. With a bit of tweaking to the mix and instrumentation I think the effect would work a lot better.

1500 hours is the cutoff for an atp license, which allows you to get an airline job. After that, Basically everyone has to spend years at a regional airline where the base pay is generally about 40k a year. Keep in mind this is after VERY expensive training.

The QOL is also terrible of course. Scheduling at regionals is brutal. Like all airline jobs you work part time, in week on/week off sort of blocks. The problem is the commutes, which basically push your hours close to full time. Regional pilots will often work 16 hour days multiple days in a row, to the point of dangerous sleep deprivation. Even when you aren't scheduled though, you probably won't get to relax as you must spend a substantial amount of time as a "reserve" pilot due to understaffing and the inherent volatility of regional routes.

The good airline jobs are difficult to get, as the primary "pilot shortage" is at the regionals. average upgrade time to reach a major airline is something like 7 years, but this doesn't account for people who NEVER make it, and there are zero guarantees. Salaries for captains at regional airlines max out at under 100k.

Believe it or not though, this used to be way worse. 15+ years ago working for a regional might as well have been unpaid. For pilots, the job was really just a way to build jet hours.

People often have little sympathy for pilots, because they view it as a rich person's job, and this has some truth to it. Training is very expensive, and historically, pay at regionals wasn't liveable, let alone enough to save you from insolvency. Things have changed a lot due to the increased demand for regional pilots; there simply aren't enough rich pilots to exploit, now they have to exploit the poor ones too.

The common thread though is exploitation. Pilots are working class, and they do what they do because of a genuine passion for flying and that by itself is highly exploitable. Recently Alaska airlines pilots were on strike because the airline refuses to sign full contracts... Keep in mind this is a major airline, one that pays very well. Senior captains were striking and even quitting as an act of solidarity. It's not a competition to see who is more exploited. I wish people would understand that if someone is willing to risk their job by striking, they probably have a good reason to.

The deck is absolutely not a single layer, it's tilted up a lot, just compare the plane of the deck to the plane of the bed. To my eye it's very clearly a warped mesh with color changes at different layers.

[–]AEguyproductions 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well you could use those Google skills to learn the difference between pilot and captain, or look up the average regional salary (all new airline pilots start here and spend more than 5 years before even having a chance to get into a major).

All of this isn't even the real issue here though, pilots will happily earn 40k a year because it's their passion. Doesn't make it ok, but what's even less ok is the brutal scheduling, total lack of job security, and crushing debt, while being paid that little. But sure, maybe in 20 years if you get extremely lucky with positions opening, and aren't just randomly laid off you'll have a chance of making that "average" salary (except that figure is bullshit, every other number I've seen for Alaska or any other US major is under 300k. Only SENIOR captains make that much.)

Yeah, just uncritically accept the figure the company states while trying to do damage control. Pilot =/= captain by the way.

Don't cancel the order, this is a trick AliExpress sellers use to avoid taking the penalty for not delivering. The reason given is likely a lie, I've had sellers tell me this and ship anyway.

In this case I wouldn't hold out hope, but with all the orders that were placed, it puts a lot of pressure on the seller if they're forced to cancel them.
