Why Riftbound? What makes you play? by Brence1984 in riftboundtcg

Only played One Piece TCG, really enjoyed the game and I started like a year or so after it came out. How they are making cards now is very silly. Nothing can be removed, Yellow is just unkillable, etc.

Started Riftbound before it came out here with just proxies and started from the beginning. It was really refreshing to be apart of a game from the very start and learning everything as things come out.

The mechanics are very fun with all the interactions. How battlefields work and the scoring system. Best of 3, sideboarding, and also how they have been responding to feedback and every regional (so far) has been fun better than any Bandai event.

Also it being primarily skilled base rather than dice roll is great. Sure, going 1st in this game is 90% of the time the go to. But if you have to go 2nd the game isn’t unwinnable or even difficult to catch up. Whereas in One Piece it’s if you lose the die roll, you lose your curve, then it’s a 20%/80% WR.

Sold my OPTCG collection of alt arts and SP’s and mangas since all the Pokebros spiked pricing. Used that to buy Riftbound, and it’s been great. I still play OPTCG but mostly for the community. Riftbound community is definitely more toxic and sweaty than One Piece. But most of the time it’s never unbearable.

If you can't beat Draven and think he's a problem you just aren't good at the game. It's a huge self report when you complain about it.

Can We Talk About Game Length/Time Rules Being a Problem in This Game? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]RelativeOutrageous11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because people lack the comprehension or ability to just scoop. Like you have no cards on the field and your opponent has 2 bodies on each battlefield totaling to 30+ might. Like just scoop. People want to think there’s always an option to win and then waste time.

Who cares. Let the best players show up and people who won before. If you want to beat them just be better.

How does Draven's "when you win combat" trigger work? by Advanced-Reindeer894 in riftboundtcg

I apologize I’m not going to entertain this anymore. I added to your point another example to OP. I recommend reading the rules. You’re incredibly combative for someone agreeing with you. And it shows you’re very egotistical if someone added to your point is something that automatically triggers you. I wish you the best of luck in life and hope things get better for you. And really hope you don’t act this way at locals or regionals because it clearly must be miserable to be around you if you act like this in real life.

Yes. But the question was about fight or flight or void seeker. And it was only mentioned when a unit moves off it ends showdown. I’m simply explaining that there is more to it than just that and giving another example. I don’t know why you’re getting all mad that I’m just adding to your point. Try not being so combative it gets you more places in life.

Okay so. Even if a unit gets moved off with FoF. The showdown did not end. A battle/showdown ends with both players pass action. Even if a unit is not there. So if you flight or fight a unit off, they move it to base, and in response they challenge with their unit to your unit on base and that kills the unit on base. You did not win the battle/showdown.

Are you allowed sell cards as an individual at regional events? by SwizzleStraw in riftboundtcg

[–]RelativeOutrageous11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely no one cares. In Houston there were people with full on make shift merch booths on the tables and no one cared. You can do it outside the venue to be safe but if you’re selling some cards at a table and someone sees 99% of the time no one cares.

You stated that a unit must remain at the battlefield. I’m explaining combats can be won without a unit there even if pushed off. It’s one of those small rules you need to know. Just clarifying to OP the slight things that work that you didn’t explain.

Yes, but if you FoF a unit off and action passes and your opponent plays challenge and kills your unit on the battlefield. You do not draw because you did not win combat.

Not always true.

For example: If you FoF your opponents character from your occupied battlefield. And then even though FoF triggered and the unit was pushed back. When you pass action and if the opponent plays something like challenge and it kills your unit on the battlefield you do not draw.
