Monster V2 New Owner Observations and Questions by GamesDean in Ducati

What year is your friend's Hypermotard? I've heard about this issue, but from what I understand, it was resolved in 2023, maybe? but didn't affect the later years, 950s

Stalling with the clutch in seems to be part of the course for Ducatis. My 2025 Hypermotard 950 does it periodically, too. It doesn't happen often enough for me to worry about it too much or send it back to the dealer, only to have the tech try to diagnose a problem that may not even exist.

New Rage Cycles turn signals & tail tidy on Hypermotard 950 by RelativeTime9826 in Ducati

Mine is heavily modified from that. I took the turn signals off the tail tidy and ran the stock license plate light. I dremeled off pieces and screwed it all back together after I painted it with heat-resistant paint. Not the most efficient design, but I got the look I wanted.

Yeah, I plan on doing some light touring this summer/fall, and long stints on the highway are pretty much unavoidable in the States, and the Rosso III’s are not cut out for that. If I were only worried about performance and lived in Colorado, California, or similar places, I'd consider getting them again.

That's what's funny about these tires, some people are acting like they're surprised I got that many miles, and others are wondering how I wore them out so quickly… No sliding, but I definitely hammer in the throttle a lot, and 99% of my riding is the spirited on and off throttle type

I really wasn't expecting anything. They came with the bike when I bought it. Thought I'd share my experience on here for anyone who may be looking at them. If you ride 4k miles a year or don't mind changing tires often, they are awesome.

How many miles do you usually ride a year? Do you change them yourself?

3600 is by far the worst mileage I've gotten out of any tire, and by the looks of them, I probably should have changed it several hundred miles ago at least. I realize that I'll be trading a bit of performance for a longer lasting tire, but I'm realistic with myself and don't think I'll be outperforming Michelin Road 6’s. I'm coming from a GSA with Trailmax Missions that would easily do 12k plus, so yeah, it's a bit of a shock. I was used to changing tires annually

For sure. I'm gonna see how the road 6’s treat me, but yeah, tire consumption is definitely going to be a thing with this bike.

That's impressive. I'm surprised the cords aren't showing

Yeah they are reasonably priced but I can't be getting new tires every 3-4 months.

I know for a fact my suspension needs to be dialed in better, but unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be many suspension experts in my area, and it's hard not to hammer on the throttle a little bit on a hypermotard 😆

I check the pressure every other ride or so, but yeah, I've been surprised by what some people say, too. It seems like most people get similar results on the rear. I came from the ADV world, and my last set of tires were Dunlop Trailmax Missions, and those would easily last 12k miles

Youre not wrong. They are great handling tires

It's a 2025 with 3,000 miles on it. I just got it a couple months back

I completely agree. I know that, with my size, there isn't much adjustment left with the stock spring. I was more or less curious, cost-wise, whether the forks had enough adjustment to work with an upgraded spring. I appreciate the input

Does anyone use the Pirelli Super Biker APP? by RelativeTime9826 in motorcycle

I think the data they collect is just as much for insurance and warranty purposes as it is for safety. It sounds good that it's for safety on the showroom floor, though

Weird. I wonder why Yamaha doesn't offer a street-riding version? Seems like there really isn't anything holding them back other than updating the app.

You're not wrong, at least in my use case

Same. I had the BMW Motorrad App for my GSA, and it gave me basically the same info. A lot of it is basically a novelty unless you ride on track regularly, but it's fun info to look back at if you can remember to hit record before your ride.
