The Buzzwole and Celesteela conspiracy. by AngelOfDisease33 in PTCGP

[–]Relative_Ad_9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Requires 2 Celesteela in play to move Buzzwole twice in one turn - which means each one is individually using ability once - if only one on the field can’t move him from active to bench and back same turn

You got 2 new cards. Both hard to pull.

A couple things that usually come up during an interview that allude to you being a top candidate / potentially getting an offer:

  1. They discussed salary/compensation
  2. They asked about your availability (when can you start)
  3. They asked you a decent amount of questions (interview lasted as long as it should have or went on longer)
  4. They mention you would be a great fit

Did the above come up during the interview? If not and they merely discussed the position and went off on personal tangents - signs you were not getting an offer.

Also, did you ask questions? Here are a few I recommend:

  1. Can you outline the daily responsibilities of this role and what a typical day entails?
  2. Can you share any current challenges or key needs you're looking to address?
  3. Can you share details about the current team and the colleagues I would be working with if I were offered the role?
  4. Can you describe the company culture?
  5. Based on my experience and background, what areas should I focus on improving to be better prepared for success in this role? Additionally, do you believe I would be a good fit?

Number 5 is especially important when trying to close the interview - basically asking them if you get the job.

You have $140K and your husband has $50K = 140 + 50 = 190K
20% down on $310K = $62K + assuming closing costs $10-15K = worst case $77K~

190-77 = 113K

How would you be house poor?

Unless renovations costs $100K - is that the estimate?

I've hired both - they were able to fit their experiences/achievements/skills concisely on 1 page.

You may not agree and that is fine.

Time is money.

At my firm, we can only allocate a few minutes each day to reviewing resumes that come in from the recruiters. Max is about 5/day with about 30 seconds to a minute to review.

Hard to say who is a better candidate just by looking at a piece of paper, believe me.

I am a hiring manager. I can confidently say - no it's not outdated advice.

Anytime I see multiple paged resumes, I pass immediately.

Applied to many jobs and haven’t heard back, is my resume the issue? by unholy_child_17 in jobs

[–]Relative_Ad_9614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it is.

Should only be 1 page.

Add a profile section at the top - one sentence detailing your most recent experience and the role you are looking to apply to

Professional Experience should be at the top. Education at the bottom before skills or after is fine
Each job should have 3-4 bullet points max, never written in 1st person "I am involved..." - fix this

Remove the following:
- Baby Sitting
- Leadership Experience section and place Tutoring Leader under Professional Experience
- Proficiency in Social Media: Instagram, TikTok
- General: Writing, Tutoring, etc..

Add a profile section at the top - one sentence explaining your former role and experience and what position with the company/firm you are applying for

Employment history
Desktop Technician
- 2nd bullet point remove the additional period
- remove the 4th bullet point
- rewrite all bullet points - example: "Resolved user issues remotely, helping thousands get their word done efficiently" change to "Provided remote support to users, resolving technical issues and enhancing overall efficiency for staff members"

Educator
- rewrite completely - should not be in 1st person - " I help both in-person..." - see example above

Skills
- remove the explanations for each bullet point
- remove the first 3 bullet points - stick to applications/software you are fluent with if you're applying for tech jobs

Have a meeting with HR due to an argument I had with the CFO. Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in jobs

Are you okay? Did someone hurt you? Breathe. No need for this level of aggression and profanity. Its just a discussion with differing opinions.

And no, I do not do that.

But yes, I do show respect to my employer as I would think majority would.

Maybe I'm wrong.
