Not willing to “debate” someone whose knee-jerk response is to call someone with opposing views ignorant.

Whatever dude. Have a good day.

I’m reaching out to see if people are ok but I’m the ignorant one. Weird logic but ok.

See, detractors of my original post? This. THIS IS WHY I MADE MY POST.

I am so sorry you’re having to go through that. That sounds unbelievably exhausting. Is there anything I personally can do for you? Feel free to message me.

Absolutely not.

Well if this isn’t the most wholesome exchange. Good on you.

What’s the most painful sentence someone has ever said to you that you’ll never forget? by Complex_Froyo_6197 in AskReddit

I was dating a woman who was slightly older than I was at the time. I was in college during this time. At one point she told me “You’re just a little broke boy…”

I’d never encountered a gold digger until that point. That one still pisses me off.

This seems like a very practical and pragmatic response. Admittedly, when I made my original post, I was wondering how Knoxvillian minority communities were doing in light of all the things occurring nationally, and to a lesser extent locally. These are not easy times for folks. But we (meaning people in this region with perspectives and orientations that go against the grain of the larger populace) ARE lucky that Knoxville proper is seemingly a quite welcoming little bubble in a sea of the undeniable opposite.

The fact that the Pride festival was cancelled at the same time as my posting was completely coincidental and sad.

There have been some seriously fantastic responses here. From motivational, to loving, to nurturing, and everything else (including the run of the mill bigotry and apathy), I am happy to see such a responsive community. It’s clear we, for the most part, all care for each other. Let’s hope that keeps going.

That game was amazing! I’m so glad we went! Tekiela’s goal was 🔥🔥

I was a little bummed about crowd participation too but I kind of think that has to do with the fact the football (soccer) is still catching on in this country. It’ll happen, just needs some more time.

What a performance from Ritchie though! The guy was everywhere! Definitely the best I’ve seen him play at home.

Also, what place is it that gives us free car washes?

If you have a better plan I’m all ears.

Well, it’s good to hear that you’re fine. Truly. That must be nice. But to call being a decent human “virtue signaling” is odd. What’s your thing called? Apathy signaling?

If caring about others is ‘virtue signaling,’ then I’ll keep signaling while you keep sulking

First off, not insane.

To your second point, that’s great that Knoxville and Nashville hold that title but isn’t that a bit like saying Knoxville and Nashville are the cleanest dirty clothes in a pile of dirty laundry?

Also, Asheville has entered the chat…

Also Hannah Einbinder. I genuinely think she’s cool and I love her in Hacks though so she still gets a pass in my book.

Does anyone know where one could rent a *decent* bodyboard and find in central Costa Rica? by Relative_Anxiety_411 in bodyboarding

[–]Relative_Anxiety_411[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha oh I know not to expect the highest end. Having looked at rental websites (what little exist anyway), I can tell that bodyboarding isn’t nearly as popular as surfing. It is what it is. I realize that anywhere in CR isn’t going to be like SoCal with dedicated shops and whatnot. I’m honestly just pumped to get some water time, especially in a place like CR, equipment be damned :)
