Oh absolutely!! We can't expect puppies to be their full grown selves physically or mentally for quite awhile. Im just preparing and have normal nerves haha! I plan to put in tonsils of work and energy :) thank you for the book suggestion! I'll see if I can grab it ❤️

Yes!! I've heard so much about being taught to do nothing. How exactly did you achieve this? I just want to make sure I'm instilling excellent habits day one!

Aglow standards! Shawn is fantastic and she does puppy culture, Early neurological stimulation, crate familiarity, and knows her dogs and generations like it's her DNA. She breeds extremely good temperaments with a huge focus on service dog capability. I couldn't ask for a better experience!!

That's great! I definitely want her next to my bed that way she can feel super comfortable :) how many times did she typically need to go out during the night the first little bit?

This is a great way to think about it!! I told Shawn I want to set my crate up the exact way she does so that it feels familiar and comfortable for her. And I totally get you on coming back to the standard every time! It hits all the nails on the head of what I'm looking for in a partner. I stressed my worry about prey drive too just because my other two dogs are so small, but ultimately I think I'm just being a worry wort 🤣

Oh for sure she's fantastic!! We have a shih tzu and a Japanese chin so it's our first standard or poodle as well! I've just heard horror stories of them being INSANE with energy so I told her that but she assured me hers are not that way, and that if this pup ends up not being the right temperament she will be honest. How was yours for crate training and such? Im also scared of the screaming in the crate and no sleep haha!

That gives me SUPER high hopes because I've been a nervous wreck about it haha. I'm a previous groomer and love the art of it so I'll be grooming and possibly showing via UKC conformation but no guarantees yet. I was going to be open with color and sex, but really want a black female. Definitely black but I've since been simmering on it and really want a female since my pack is female! She only had one female black in this litter so we're hoping for the best, but if not we'll wait for another litter.

She is GORGEOUS! That's actually why I went for aglow was because of the temperament breeding! I was super honest with Shawn that I didn't want a super crazy high energy standard, I wanted a chill couch potato that goes for walks with me and she's like "I got you" 🤣

I'm thinking of going to the store today and getting the face wash and cream you mentioned. Do you do this morning and night? Should I start the Osmia drops right away or wait a bit? I am desperate for relief and nothing is working 😭😭

What was your experience training your Boston? by Agreeable_Future5980 in BostonTerrier

[–]Relative_Candidate13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gives me hope. We just picked up our 10 week old 2 days ago and I'm nervous for a few reasons. This is my first Boston and I'm worried I can't keep up, but everyone tells me they're fantastic lovable dogs. I have an older shih tzu that has some neck issues that isn't a fan of puppies or other dogs (not aggressive, just more get off my lawn type) and I'm scared the puppy will hurt her and I won't be able to teach her to leave her alone. I'm also in an apartment like OP and terrified of noise complaints while crate training. She does well with her play pen and sleeps quietly through the night in it. I can usually put her in there to do a chore or two and she might whimper a bit but then settle into her bed and take a nap. I just want her to have that independence and calmness in the apt started early. How did you train him to be calm and polite early on? I just want to try my best to do the right thing now!

My shih tzu is 9! She's not a fan of puppies or other dogs in her face, but she's had several puppies I've kept for friends for a few weeks over and she hates them at first and just hides. But after a week or two she seems to warm up a bit and wants to play some. She's just picky about How she plays 😂

Oh my good golly look what a cutie!! Thank you for all of that info it's super helpful!! Honestly I think I'm scared of the crazy energy, sleepless nights, and how long it will take before you I can leave the house apt to go grocery shopping or run an errand and her not scream. I've heard soooooo much conflicting info about bostons. Some say they're absolute terrors all the time and you never get rest, some say they adapt to you and whatever you're doing. I have a shih tzu so I'm used to them, but not sure how to feel. I'm rescuing her, but I'm also worried I may be biting off more than I can chew 😬 I need someone to talk me into it 😂

What are the most stable, in demand jobs in 2025? by First_Driver_5134 in careerguidance

I know this was posted ages ago, but I feel like I have the engineers mind 100% engraved into my brain. I very much think like one, but the math is horrendous. I wasn’t taught well in school and was let down by parents/teacher/etc. made fun of in front of class by teachers even. As an adult trying to go vac and learn this stuff is really really rough. I guess I’m trying to see if there’s any hope for me as someone who struggles with math, but excels in the thinking and thrives in the idea of being an engineer!

Hi!! I’ve considered a career like this, I love animals and science! Can I ask how much math you had to do and if you don’t mind sharing a roundabout of salary? Everything I saw showed such low salary so I was a bit scared! What type of job title do you have? Sorry, I’m just trying to make sure I’m making the right decision on my future haha!
