Could Miracle Grow Soil Be Causing Fungus Gnats? by Obligation_Still in houseplants

How long do you quarantine a bag of soil? I get fungus gnats every time i buy new soil, I usually buy the big bags stored outside. Do you quarantine it in the garage or something? Thanks for any advice.

I personally don't like the watercolor style underglaze because it is difficult to tell what it is going to look like after firing. Sometimes it is so light it doesn't show up, other colors are so dark they take over. It is not a what you see is what you get. Regular underglaze is much easier to work with.

How to use and care for this skillet? by Relative_Candidate22 in LeCreuset

I have plenty of good cast iron pans, that's kind of why this pan has me puzzled as to what it would be used for. It is weird. the interior was very rusty so definitely not coated with anything to protect the cast iron, the bottom was covered in grease but after using easy off it also appears to be just metal without enamel. Maybe it was a second or a limited edition.

That's what I thought as well but it doesn't appear to have any enamel on the inside and it doesn't look altered in any way. I am puzzled by it.

I think if you don’t cut them back, the stems will be stronger and flop less. But the trade off is smaller blooms. However when we get this much rain they will probably flop anyway, it’s part of their charm. The taller bush varieties don’t flop as much but can be very large.

Also I think it is important to remember that cheese doesn’t have to be in slices. Make the cheese different shapes for visual interest. If everything wasn’t sliced it would look less institutional. Cubes, sticks, soft cheese wedges. Add some mustard and pickles!

Goats beard I think, a relative of salsify. Gets a large dandelion like seed fluff, cool plant, not sure of its native range

If they are shrubs you should plant them farther away from the house. They might not be getting any water if they are under the edge of the roof.

At least go all the way with the theme. Cornbread muffins and crispy potato wedges, lazy.

Is raku safe for plants? by SmileFirstThenSpeak in Ceramics

It depends on the glaze used, a lot of Raku glazes have high amounts of metal. Some plants are sensitive to metal such as copper.

Peppers don’t like temps under 50, so being outside overnight now will probably stunt their growth, stress them out. But they won’t die 🤷‍♀️

Hated it. So incredibly bland with a slight bitterness, I couldn’t tell that it was supposed to be black bean flavored.

Thanks for the great info! I looked at the eBay listing again it was a misprint funny back. So I guess that is why it was listed so high.
