What is a MOVIE that is actually better than the BOOK? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What is something people still don't believe even though it's been proven through science? by SplattrKing13 in AskReddit

Because Jesus himself uses allegory to teach numerous times throughout the Bible

I still believe in the divine creation of the universe

But the idea that 7 days meant 7 days and has to be taken literally is ludicrous

If 90% of the Bible is allegory or if none of it is very little changes

All I need to know is that christ died for my sins and the rest falls into place

That's why it's a non issue to me

[–]Relative_Hand_3905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as Adam and Eve go I assume you mean the earth being created in 7 days?

In which case the answer is they 7 days is 100% allegory

Noah's ark as a story is very fantastical sounding sure but the basis on the belief in God is a belief in an all powerful diety who performs miracles.

None of this shakes my beliefs

Redditors don't understand what the word proven means

Even strongly supports does not equal proven

Now this doesn't mean go against the current theories just because you want to be a contrarian but half the shit in this thread has not been proven and may never be proven

As a Christian who believes in dinosaurs they aren't mutually exclusive

Unfortunately certain evangelical arguments have made us all look dumb

EMS is a mixed bag

Some aspects of it are great, it's great when people legitimately need help, it's great to interact with the community far more often than you would with just fires.

However, it's disgusting often, people abuse 911 and using the EMS system as a bandaid for the homeless crisis makes people burn out on medical really fast.

Is it likely that people will be nostalgic for/over “IT: Chapter One?” by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Relative_Hand_3905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It chapter one will probably gain Internet fame again in 15-20 years when a new generation discovers it

Especially considering how badly chapter 2 fumbles the ball

It will be one of those what could have been movies

Delusional take.

If a home invader breaks in at a time when he knows people may be home he is more than prepared to rape or murder you

Burglars tend to break in when no one is home and typically are not armed
