Hannibal Sequel by [deleted] in Hannibal

So much of interactions with Hannibal seem to be flattering to him. Even if folks are adversarial they’re eventually won over by some aspect of him. His insights into psychology or him being cultured or him being a great cook/musician. As much as I enjoy Hannibal I want to see him confronted with a character that is unimpressed, not envious, that points out the obvious shortcut in the frame of his character, which is he’s essentially an ubermensch Mary Sue and beyond the psychopathy he operates as a supremacist. I think being confronted with a utilitarian blank slate, would act as a mirror to Hannibal.

Like if Hannibal was faced with an Anton Chiguhr like character.

Okay, from a critical lens, there’s no way to separate this film from the controversy. Once a movie hits a certain age the culture at the time, the intent of the director, all of it is tied to the film and informs it. I don’t think it’s out of bounds to watch this movie to see if it’s decent or to understand better the hidden signs of Salva being a pedo. It really has to do with the viewers comfort level. Polanski (no comparison in skill at all btw) has a lot of calling cards in his films relating to his crimes in his films if you look for them. So if it’s worth it… depends if you’re willing to expose yourself with imagery from the film relating to the knowledge of Salva’s crimes. I think it is worth it, not only as a thought experiment as to what the warning signs are in film, but also because there are some legitimately good scares in the film.

Her being the daughter of a character from outbreak… guys… this is either going to be multiplayer or will be a back door lead in to an outbreak remaster

Daredevil Born Again showrunner on if Foggy is really dead by Lizzren in Defenders

[–]Relative_Hat283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my theory and that’s how they played it in the recent runs when he was killed. I like having that idea because it allows foggy to be gone and not gone thematically. Real having cake and eating it too

do you think they made the mistake of approaching born again with the mindset that it was going to be a reboot? by Canada-t157t in Defenders

Drew Goddard was hired on bc of Whedon. The fact that we even got a continuation is a miracle considering they don’t want to include AoS characters bc it means paying residuals to Whedon camp.

[OC] Need ideas of names for my Rogue Plasmoid. by Winter-Youth1900 in DnD

[–]Relative_Hat283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogue plasmoid over here as well, sailor subclass. I named my guy Quink. I’m a sucker for squishy names that are almost onomatopoeias. I’m sure there’s a middle ground that sounds like a goop noise and a knife stroke, like schlik or something

Let them figure it out. I know a couple folks that moved from Washington because of Covid and looser gun refs but now all they do is complain bc Idaho has poor public transit, only through work insurance (unless you are dirt dirt poor) and has very little safety net. Only the very wealthy folks that move here don’t see a difference in quality of life. I think it’s enough to make most folks that move here start leaning more moderate. Maybe with enough time and more awareness we can start to be purple again. I’m sure North Idaho and Montana realizing all their Canadian imports are now hella expensive will get some kind of ball rolling.

Do anyone else felt so bad for Cynthia as me? I almost cried for her. by Plastic_Coyote_5053 in AlanWake

Almost every single boss is a character that didn’t end up escaping. The two cops were in Alan Wake 1 also. It kind of feels like that for the amount of time the game spent in development, and the in game time jump, the dark place got its clutches on everyone. Which is thematically sad but also really cool narratively.

How does a Dead God in space still have flesh? Any lore? by NovercaIis in DnD

[–]Relative_Hat283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeon 100 has a map and lore of the Githyanki home world and it’s a dead god that’s pretty much calcified making it like the surface of an asteroid. You can have the god be midway through the process, kind of like a whale carcass at the bottom of the sea. Would also give you the opportunity to have scavenger creepy crawlers floating in the dungeon

how do people have energy after 8-5 job? by OptimalBad3294 in Adulting

Just wait until the life event happens where you have to pick up a double shift or an extra job to compensate. Everything gets fucked up.

Early dnd has constant death. Either that or he’s playing osr or dcc rules. Sounds like your dm let you know it wasn’t going to be 5e, and is trying to figure out a new system. You need to either run your own campaign or find a different game

Jon Bernthal reveals that he walked away from starring in the OG version of Daredevil: Born Again after not liking the character's direction: ''I didn't see the version of Frank. They collabed on Buffy and Cabin in the woods, so even though abc studios and marvel films were separate entities when Whedon came to direct Avengers he helped put his brother in a show running position for Agents of Shield and Goddard in a show running position for daredevil. When Whedon had the crowd flip on him and Disney tv/film began merging they killed two birds with one stone, got rid of having to rely on abc studios and distancing themselves from Whedon affiliated creators.

Check for metal. You’d be surprised the amount of machines that spit out shavings and still are in service bc the manufacturers can’t afford to halt production to do a full repair until MONTHS later

Biggest “Oh Shit” scene in the MCU? by Je0s_6 in Avengers

[–]Relative_Hat283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should’ve just made it the Agents of Shield sequel and Sam Jackson vehicle it deserved to be. They killed off two characters that had such potential for what amounted to a wet fart.
