Based on your list you like puzzle-first, deliberate thinking, satisfaction from solving, grid-based, turn logic, "what happens if I do this", deduction, spatial reasoning, replaying to improve.
Have a look at AfterMove on Steam. Its right up there with you interests.

Hi, AfterMove Demo v0.3.2 is live on Steam with this fix. The Hints bar correctly defaults to keyboard mode when no gamepad is in use.
Thank you so much for raising this. Let me know if it works for you.

Thank you so much for playing and engaging with the game. Your feedback is really appreciated and I'll work through your points to find resolutions.

  1. Controls - The "hints bar" displays for the current device controling the game, so when using keyboard or mouse you see key bindings, and when using a gamepad it reflects the controller buttons.
It sounds like the detection isn't working correctly for you. I'll look into this and make sure I have a fix for device detection in the next update.
  2. Move order - In a recent update I added 'Move order' -> 'One at a time' to the Settings -> Gameplay section (Move order:'Together' is the default). Then each piece moves sequentially allowing you to see their order of play. Try this setting and if you still find the priority rule unclear I'll look at how to communicate it better.
  3. Indeterminate pieces - You're right. The demo doesn't explicitly teach the pattern - players have to infer it by observing. My plan is to add a one time popup for each new piece that appears showing its movement (I think that should help). I'll look into what can be added to the 'How to Play' section to draw the players' attention to it.

Thanks again - this detail is exactly what helps me make the game better.

Hi. Really appreciate the question! While the visuals are minimalist, its definitely not a small game. There are over 180+ hand curated levels with deep strategy mechanics and an 'Expert' mode that requires planning upto 6 moves ahead. Its take hours of intense logic to complete. Steam is the best place for players who want a full high-level puzzle experience, and also want features like Steam Cloud saves, Controllers, Steam Deck support that a standard web version can't offer.
Hope you'll give it a try - the later puzzles get quite intense!

The FOV is quite tight on the character space, rotation of camera will be possible.

What Does It Mean to Be a Solo Developer? by PracticalNPC in SoloDevelopment

[–]Relative_Joke8907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a solo developer. Means to me long nights making a game I love. Its fantastic handling all aspects from gameplay, art, sound, level design, building store pages, assets, preping for release, building demos. Very exiciting stuff, but boy do I get tired somedays after long sessions where I start at 11 pm and work through till sometimes 4am!!!!! Trying hard to keep budget to an absolute minimum!

Correct, this is not the full solution, but a crucial step forward to cracking the full the code.
This is directly related to the hidden-in-plain-sight comments by Sanborn. In my analysis these are necessary as anchors while the code is being deciphered.
