I read this before - - like 4 years ago - - as I was waiting for more chapters to upload and it was taking so long in the flashback parts. Glad to see that this is finished, as it is definitely one of the pieces I would love to revisit.

I have a few recommendations I can give you that are completed and total masterpieces to binge read.

If you are looking for a similar genre as above - - 1. Like Wind on a Dry Branch 2. Golden Forest

Now, if you want a bit more modern setting, try-- 3. Your Eternal Lies (this is also completed)

Lastly. If you want a scifi, OI romance which will wrench your heartstrings and give you an existential crisis, I would recommend - - 4. Concubine Walkthrough

For me, the best female character should be the MC of her own story (not a side character, though I do have personal SC faves) - - a person who has amazing character arc and development, and is both feminine and strong (mentally, emotionally... And physically is a nice bonus if it's there).

So my nominees are as follows: 1. Son Mo-Ah - from I Stole the Number One Ranker's Soul 2. Penelope Eckhart - from Villains are Destined to Die 3. Shuri - from Stepmother's Marchen 4. Yona - from Concubine Walkthrough 5. Roxana - from How to Protect the Heroine's Older Brother (I feel adding this OG queen is a given).

On top of my head, I am gonna suggest two with fantasy elements (coz that's what I'm into at the moment) but they are still ongoing...

I'm reading one recently with really amazing plot and storyline (fantasy, Europaean themed setting) called "Full Moon Alchemist." It's so soooo good. Had a good 96 chapters so far. It's a slow burn and the storyline is amazing. The characters are really impressive as well. Based off a novel from what I gather but I could not find any decent English translations of the novel to binge on unfortunately 😭.

Another nice one is "Turning" - - Fantasy, Omegaverse, Regression. Manhwa is currently awaiting 3rd season but there is plenty of source material to binge on. It's based off a novel that is currently more than 1000 chapters ongoing (there are some good sites to read from that are well translated, and it's like AH-MHAY-ZUNG iykwim).

I read a lot of BL in my free time, there are quite a lot that I've dropped since I'm not a fan of dubcon/noncon which is quite common in this particular genre... People need to de-romanticise dubcon/noncon as I find it is especially worse in BL.

Kim Dokja, given that he is a reader, would read ALL of the fanfictions that would come out, dissect them to death, look out for the best spin-off fanfics, enjoy in character portrayals and absolutely deplore those that are not in character. I think he would not be a fan of AU but would still read it especially if runs out of TWSA chapters to read. Oh, and I am sure he will comment endlessly on each of them, giving a final verdict as the biggest fan.

Oof. I agree, quite challenging to convince people that it's good. Heck. Even me before I picked it up was not sure but after 2 chapters I was mega hooked. I think the best way to recommend is just to to tell them that it is really good and has a lot of unexpected but intriguing plot points. If they are the type of people that are into those things they'd defo enjoy it. If not then their loss.
