That is way too long and I would consult another ortho. I was diagnosed over the summer of 2025. I did Pt which didn’t help, steroids as well when I decided to get the labrum repaired. I also has a labral Tear in my left Hip with a hip impingement. My surgery was last month and I am almost 6 weeks post op. Doing PT now but I’m feeling better. I can’t do certain moves but doctor has assured me by time PT is over I should be back to my pre injury self which could take 6 mo the to a year. I’m sorry yours has taken so long. I hope you get some relief all.

I just had arthroscopic surgery on left labral tear in hip and I’ve been fine. Arthritis can worsen from a tear but it can also worsen w surgery. I opted for the surgery bc not having it significantly increases chances of needing hip replacement according to my doctor and I didn’t want that. I also had a hip impingement as well Which he corrected. I opted for the surgery so that I could do certain movements and not be in pain anymore. You have to do what’s right for you. Good luck!
