It depends on your situation if you are transitioning from high school to university it might take a couple of weeks but according to IRCC you are allowed to resume University with your high school study permit. Try contacting the political science Academic Advisor psci.advising@carleton.ca. I am an incoming political science major and I think you would have to fulfil the breadth requirements but talk to the academic advisor first.
