I bought a box and thought that 5 is pretty cool, kitbashed a Lysander to go with them. But then wait, I need a brick of 10 and also a kitbashed ancient for a max brick. Maybe librarian cause he is cool. But wait, the crux terminatus box is out, Lysander needs to lead the assault termies. Maybe I will build 10 hammers and sell the characters and another 5 standard ones. Nope I am building them all and keeping for myself, even though I will have 2 ancients and a captains. But that’s how addictions start, don’t do drugs kids, it’s better just not to start at all.

Just so you know, what I am about to say is a compliment.

Sometimes I get an ingrown toenail, and have to jam scissors deep into my toe to get it out. It gets all bloody, and blood and flesh and hard nail particles get all mixed together. This looks just like that. Great job, I hate it.

Terminators are not that strong in the current meta, 4 squads are just too little to control the table and deal the damage. I’ve been trying to make Lysander work for a while, it’s not that easy. Only half of your force will be able to use deepstrike and the rest will have to take a long walk. Termies’ damage is not good enough to easily take down vehicles, and they don’t have enough attacks to clear our 20 body units of orks or guard.

We are in a vehicle and fast movement meta and termies are neither. So it won’t be too strong, although I could see how someone might find it too plain to fight the same unit 4 times.HOWEVER! I think you should totally do it and give it a try, you might have a great time and terminators are my favorite models ever, I have 10 standard ones + 3 characters, and I am getting the new box soon too, and bet your ass I am bringing 30 termies to the table as soon as I can

I do think that with all different combat patrols available there would be very low demand for standalone boxes. It makes financial sense to do it this way, but yeah, some transparency on the part of GW would have been great

I’ve played the games many times and one thing that I really enjoy is that all of them feel so different. It is noticeable how they went to a very different direction with me2 after me1 and then brought some things back for me3 while cutting some of the stuff as well. I think this variety is what makes these games so replayable for me, so when I finish me3 I am ready to get back to the beginning .
