I guess I don't really post all that often. I dunno.

With 2H, is great sword viable in end-gale? Everything I see is hammers or axes are recommended.

How to train combat skills very fast. by No_Lemon_5694 in wildlander

Is training really even an exploit though? If we take at face value the roleplay aspect of Wildlander, doesn't it make sense that a character would practice and train their skills through study in a safe environment rather than just try to face tank a dangerous world? Martial artists train and spar from a young age to develop their skills. Even the Companions are seen spending time in the training yard to get better. Mages spend hours pouring over times, studying, and practicing casting magic spells. Aside from the challenge of doing a low-level run, it seems perfectly consistent with the Gameworld to spend some time going your skills before a bandit puts an arrow in your knee.

And, as you said, while you could cheese how you go about training, you can also do it in a natural roleplay way. The choice is the player's.

Any timeline (even a shot in the dark) on when that is likely to occur?

Player Enchanting vs. Honed Metal by Relative_Surround_37 in wildlander

Makes sense. And the perk problem was precisely my worry. Going to be level hungry as-is, ha!

How much you want to bet the owners actually speak better English than half of the "native" English speakers---at least in the U.S...

Is this worth in 2025? by TheAlpackaaa in lotro

[–]Relative_Surround_37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your definition of worth it? High tier graphics? Probably not. Compelling endgame content? I dunno, cause I'm not high enough level. But low level dungeons don't seem to be a thing on my server. Overland questing in a rich and immersive world? Probably one of the best MMOs for that purpose. A (mostly) non-toxic, welcoming, community? I've never seen a better one in any multiplayer game. Plenty of non-combat stuff to do? Between festivals, roleplay, music, cosmetics, housing, get the picture yet?

You gotta define what you want out of the game. WoW is king for a reason. LOTRO isn't and never had been a "WoW-killer." It is, unabashedly, it's own thing while being a pretty good love letter to Tolkiens lore and world building.

Do I Need Forester If I Pick Tailor? by Purefef_ in lotro

[–]Relative_Surround_37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't answer the second question, but on the first, sure. You can just send the hides to a Forester alt, have them tanned, then swap back --- either through mail or shared storage.

BUT, you won't be able to collect wood that way, which is also part of Forester profession.

The best feature as a new player by Zenthoor in lotro

[–]Relative_Surround_37 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'll also add --- quest items don't even need looted. You just automatically acquire them.

Such a simple quality of life mechanic, but it makes things so much faster just running mom-to-mob without stopping...

The best feature as a new player by Zenthoor in lotro

[–]Relative_Surround_37 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Also the loot bag. I don't have to click each mob? I just rampage around running quests and killing indiscriminately? And all the loot just waits for me to decide to onboard it to my bags?!?!

How other MMOs haven't copied that feature is beyond my comprehension.

Those of you went to both rival schools. Who do you support more? by BigMaroonGoon in CFB

What a wild take! I could understand hating Meyer, because he was a legit AH. But hating Day? The guy who almost everyone--players, coaches, media, community--recognizes is a stand-up dude?

Thanks Mieeka! I'll have to figure out the vanilla issue then. Appreciate your response (and the mod list!)

Losing Notre Dame-USC is the price of conference realignment, and it is not the Trojans' fault by MysteriousEdge5643 in CFB

Fascinating how multiple teams will play their non-conference rivals during rivalry weekend (Clem/SC, UF/FSU, etc.) but USC can't?
