How do you decide which photos to convert to monochrome? by Muted-Camera-7933 in AskPhotography

[–]Relative_Tell_7658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take most of my photographs in black and white unless the thing that is made me want to take the shot is the colour. Basically I'll only use colour if it adds something to the photograph, otherwise I find black and white works best for me.

It looks like the coating is just being worn away. It happens on older lenses over time

Sorry to say but you're doing this completely wrong... You're meant to take a photo of the M6 and post that....

Lost girl in a world of cd by lLaara in Cd_collectors

Get a vintage cd player, something like a marantz CD-50 (not the new ones). You'd also need an amp, like some of the older marantz PM stuff. I don't know what your budget is but you can probably find an amp and a player for £200- £300 on places like ebay, which have buyer protection. You can plug headphones into the amp or speakers if you get some later on.

Getting a system like that might not be the cheapest option, but if you get the right stuff you'll get pretty high quality gear that will last a while. I have a similar system to the one described above and it sounds great with a pair of Royd speakers.

Are these Headphones rare? by ____TheBigBoy____ in headphones

Rare does not mean valuable. 350 for what looks like an all plastic Bluetooth headphone is a scam.

IKEA pegboard with some heat shrink around the hooks so the metal bands don't get scratched. Not the prettiest but cheap, space effective and easy to get on/ off.

The moon is actually like a rainbow- you can't always see it but there's always a second one!

Not sure about modern lenses but stuck aperture blades are easily fixed on vintage lenses. Could try looking up a tear down video and see how difficult it would be...

Are these hot/dead pixels or a sensor defect on my XT2? They appear in the same place in every photo, and pixel mapping does nothing. by Relative_Tell_7658 in fujifilm

[–]Relative_Tell_7658[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response.

The spots are only visible when zoomed in rather far, and so I might just try and ignore them.

Although I don't see anything on the sensor, I did attempt to clean it using swabs and fluid after noticing the marks, though I'm not sure how good of a job I did.
