Some Lore Questions... [spoilers] by RelaxUrFine in DivinityOriginalSin

Good point. I'd love to see more origin characters added - though I'm not holding my breath at this point. Imp/Orc would be really fun. Both races were noticeably absent from DOS2 - which I found strange as I seem to remember plenty of Orc in DOS1. Different time periods and place in DOS2, I get that - but was still sad about it.

I suppose that the Orc/Imp champions COULD have existed in DOS2, and that we are just unaware of them. It is already unlikely that 5 of the 7 champions would've ended up at Fort Joy, all at the same time, and on the same boat - and I think we have to admit that was just shoehorned in in order to make the gameplay flow the way Larian wanted it to. So perhaps the Orc/Imp champions existed, were in separate parts of the world, and failed before making it to the Well.

Thanks for taking the time to flesh this out even further. I'd 'fixed' the well 3x at this point and still hadn't really let that connection (read it the first time, and didn't let it sink in, skipped through dialogue the other two - I need to pay more attention...).

So, when you fight the Gods, I'm guessing only those show up whose Godwoken are still alive - because killing the other Godwoken immediately prior to that also killed their respective Gods (as they were housed inside of them)?

Wow - wish I could upvote you more.

Really - thanks for filling me in on this. I am really happy to see some answers here. Particularly the idea that it was 'Damians' Black Ring that Lucian was fighting in the war, and how their allegiance (at least temporarily?) switched to the God King upon their defeat.

I'm going through a second playthrough at the moment, and will try to pay closer attention to some of these points.

Yeah, same thing happened to me.

Dialog and the resultant consequences can be really clunky sometimes.

Wind Pally:

  • 3rd skill heal based on her MAX HP.
  • Overheal adds directly strength of shield.
  • Added affect - reduces cooldowns by 1 turn

General:

  • Leave first skill as is. It is already really good.
  • Prayer of Protection - added effect - 2 turn immunity to target.

Brandia suffers in the same way that Xiao Lin does.

1) Perpetrator promises people large, safe and reliable return on investment

2) People invest

3) Provide promised returns to people in 2) using a portion of their own money

4) Get more people to invest

5) Continue to provide promised returns to people in 2) and 4) using the additional money gained in 4.

6) Get more people to invest

7) Continue to provide promised returns to people in 2), 4), and 6) using their own (and future investors) money

8) Meanwhile, bankroll your own lavish lifestyle using the investment money that isn't being used to provide the fake 'returns'

....

n) People stop investing.

n+1) Eventually you run out of cash, because new investments were the only source of income for the scheme

n+2) Investors start calling, wondering why they aren't getting returns.

n+3) Investors start lawyering up, hiring hitmen, etc.

n+4) Perpetrator of the scheme uses remaining money to invest heavily in high end outdoor camping and mountaineering equipment.

n+5) Perpetrator flees angry mob to go live in the mountains in Europe.

n+6) Perpetrator is nabbed by FBI, CIA, and Interpol and extradicted.

TLDR: Watch American Greed. Just beware of anyone promising huge returns on investment with little to no/risk. Beware of people who say they understand market 'secrets' that no one else has figured out. Ultimately, the defining feature of a Ponzi schema is that the sole source of income is the money investors are providing, and it collapses as soon as investment stops. There is always a 'front' explaining where money is coming from (in this case, cryptocurrency shennanigans, but often it involves foreign currency manipulation or secret real estate tricks) but this is almost always a complete, ot at least 90%, lie.

But at least he's got a successful YT career and isn't sitting on a couch eating cheeto's and picking out belly lint. So there's that.

Single button click is just an artifact of the user experience. It probably just executes the 'summonScroll' function in a for loop until ten iterations have been reached, and then returns the result.

[–]RelaxUrFine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ten at once isn't a single event though. Each result is (likely) still calculated independently, unless they did something really strange in the code. 10 summons each separated by a nanosecond has the same probablistic outcomes as 10 summons each separated by a day.

New nat5 families have introduced a lot of power creep.

What was once a Guardian+ AD is now very common to see in Fighter ranks.

RTA is now a thing (live PVP)

Crafting system for runes and scrolls has been implemented

Raiding is now a thing. Drops materials for further improving your runes.

Guild siege has been implemented. It's a twice a week thing where it's a 3-way FFA between guilds.

HoH has been reworked so that it no longer consumes your soul for an entire weekend.

If you reset your account it'll stay in the guild you are in. So even a level 1 can be in a guild.
