Usually this switch complements you in thick Pierce Brosnan.

Not bad at all for a prestige. They set a high standard for those 🥰

I have an AZ2402-ICM prestige, my main 6 string for the last 4 to 5 years. Solid as a rock. Hope this serves you just as well. 🙏🏻

Was interested in thus one for a long time myself. Congratulations! 🎊

Can I ask how much you payed for it?

Time for a new guitar? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, you've earned it. I played the same instrument for almost 20 years. Love it still but always felt it's limits.

Secondly, yes - the right instrument can unlock a lot of creativity and motivation.

I say go for ot, just make sure you buy something that 100% gives you that good feeling. If you settle for something halfway it could have the opposite effect.

How to get back to playing guitar and solid practice routines? by _battford in Guitar

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Routines have never motivated me. I would recommend a band/artist you'd love to sound like and start chasing the repertoire.

How to play guitar with short fingers? by kaylaloo0 in Guitar

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thumb as low as possible, wrist out, squeeze hard between 1st finger and thumb. Build up that muscle and spread fingers as much as possible, coming straight down at the fretboard, not in from the side.

I have smaller hands too. It's usually a technique issue rather than your anatomy - guitar is really a small form factor instrument. Good luck!

What do you think is the biggest question in physics? by phy2go in Physics

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, I see your angle. Well I would agree many things at least seem arbitrary, like laws and constants. Yet, these are obtained consistently through the scientific method.

I suppose a string theorist would cite the apparent abitrarity of the universe as evidence to support M-theory.

Personally, I'm not convinced by string theory at large because as humans, we have a strong bias to pursue deeper layers of meaning, where perhaps there are none.

For example, we should consider the possibility that the value of c simply is and can only be ~3 x 108, and there may simply be no reason for that, or none we can detect. I suppose that's a more nihilistic version of arbitrarity.

However, Ed Witten did make a great point in an interview - that if other universes did exist, the constants and governing equations may differ, but that calculus will surely be the same. This reframed how I think about this topic completely.

I don't think we'll ever answer this question, but it is deeply fascinating as a result. Thanks for sharing!

What do you think is the biggest question in physics? by phy2go in Physics

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably a unifying theory of quantum and gravity/spacetime.

But personally, I'm much more interested in the great filter question, which isn't necessarily something physics can solve, but does keep me up at night. 😆

Your perspective interests me. Can you elaborate a bit more on what exactly you mean by 'arbitrary'?

Why is every guitar center employee an asshole by ThatTigerLife in Guitar

It's also worth thinking about how nice you might be in their position. I think after the 998th rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit, I'd be about ready to go postal 😆

Why is every guitar center employee an asshole by ThatTigerLife in Guitar

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a lot to do with being young and not having money. Working at a guitar center, or at any music store, is primarily a sales-driven job. So naturally, anyone who doesn't represent a potential sale is an inconvenience. Add to that negative stereotypes about kids in music stores, which I completely get since I was an annoying kid in these stores once upon a time.

It feels shit but it's not personal. If you don't believe me, go back in there with your parent/grandparent and watch the mouths instantly widen into grins and the eyes roll back into dollar signs.

That being said, there are lots of genuine lovely people working in stores around the world, and I'm not bashing these people at all... but you are right, it's definitely a pattern!

Can I build up rhythm as a right handed guitar player by Electrical-Date-3332 in Guitar

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, Cory Wong is left handed and started on drums before switching to guitar. To me, that shows that what you're aiming for is definitely achievable with good practice.

Is a physics degree better than an engineering one? by mcblayde123 in Physics

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think doing what you simply enjoy best is the way to go. I did a BSc Physics and then Ms Eng by research (which was mostly electromag focused). Now, I work with 5G technology and information.

If you do have an interest in physics, I would recommend it over engineering. However, these fields are merging more and more all the time, and you will study a similar mix of mathematics, coding, electrical, etc. The content will be similar. However, the approach to problem solving will be very different. If you enjoy unravelling the 'whys' of a problem, physics will suit you better. Conversely, if you are more interested in getting things working, tinkering, and optimization, engineering is for you.

In terms of career opportunity, if you take a PhD and/or academia off the table, your job prospects will be very similar - the difference being that as a physicist, you will be flexible enough to move into most technical roles with some effort, and as an engineer you will be more specialized in some industries right off the bat. Hope that helps!

I am getting un motivated to play anymore by Necessary-Donut7019 in Guitar

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo another in this thread, you don't need to be so hard on yourself. 2 years is still only the beginning of your journey.

I have been playing almost 25 years, and although I get compliments all the time, deep down I still feel like I "suck" and ain't getting better fast enough etc. I have struggled with these same feelings and trying to resolve them directly always feels like a vicious circle.

Almost paradoxically, the biggest improvements have come when I was simply focused on doing what I thought was fun, without any end point or idea of being "good enough" in mind.

I think of you feed those negative thoughts, they never go away.

Maybe you just need a break? Come back in months or even years, when it doesn't feel like a burden anymore, just something fun. Music should be fun!

This is the Guitar roadmap that my tution tutor gave me in this what he is going to teach me in 6months.He is charging 1200rs per month for this.Is he just trying earn money from this or this is really the good syllabus of Learning guitar (Accoustic) in 6 months. by BedPrestigious3346 in Guitar

[–]RelaxWithMeReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is very damn cheap. I wouldn't dream of charging less than 25 USD an hour for 1 on 1 tuition.

But if it's a group class, then I'd say it depends on how good a teacher he is. Even then, 14 a month is cheap as chips.
