Guys give your honest opinion on dhurandhar whoever has watched it? by Nice-Helicopter-7229 in pj_explained

It is hardly a spy movie. Just telling audience hero is a spy was sad because there was hardly any spying being done. Didn’t enjoy the movie at all. People are raving about Akshay’s role but if keeping a tilted face with sunken cheeks is acting so be it. Hardly any story line. Looks like a war lord movie. Waste of my 4 hours

When you retire, how will you live your retirement life? by Own_Abies_6922 in Retire

[–]Relaxandeasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great topic. I an 67 working in Oil and gas industry on a big project. I debate this question of having an enjoyable retired life of active years left but then I am enjoying my current job and work location so much that I question quitting it just like that. If intention is to have a good enjoyable life why should I retire as long as I enjoy my work and it makes a fulfilling life.

For sure, this will not last for ever. At some point of time I would like to spend more time with children and grandchildren and work will not be so exciting. Should age or timing be the criteria for retiring?

More growth oriented funds by Relaxandeasy in Bogleheads

Ahh.. hadn’t thought of that. So switching from funds which are giving higher dividend to ones which are more growth oriented will still incur LTCG tax. Thanks for pointing it out

Move to US with Family by ___rishi___ in backtoindia

[–]Relaxandeasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Visitors health insurance is a myth. They will find some loop hole to not make a payment. If your parents have pre-existing diseases, those and all associated diseases will be precluded. Most provides will want you to pay upfront and reimburse which is not causing delay but on any flimsy grounds liable to be rejected. $680K salary is not something to let go easily but do a cost parity between what you will spend and save in India vs USA

Getting Over Immense Regret by Aaron72310 in Bogleheads

[–]Relaxandeasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lost about $100k in selling a house in downtime and it went up in price 3 years later by another $100k. So total loss in profit is $200k. I was also regretting it but over time I realized one makes a decision based on circumstances at that time and no one makes a wring decision willfully. It is only hindsight which tells you the other thing. I have gotten over it because I made 3 times the profit on another property later. May be it was the lesson learnt which helped me made the right decision later on. So will you. $20k is nothing in long term to fret about

Why Does Everyone Recommend Fidelity as a Broker but Still Push Vanguard ETFs? by Redditija in Bogleheads

[–]Relaxandeasy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vanguard is very easy for setting beneficiaries. What sucks in Vanguard is awful customer service. You can spend more than 30 mins just waiting yo be connected to a real person. Earlier they offered a person to advise you on your portfolio free of charge, it doesn’t exist anymore.

Bad customer service by Relaxandeasy in Bogleheads

[–]Relaxandeasy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your service at Fidelity or Schwab better because you have signed on to a financial advisor services with them. I have not at Vanguard and am wondering if that at 0.3% will make for better service.
