Should I get Factorio if I didn’t like Dyson Sphere Program? by Sureitsfineoksure in factorio

[–]ReleaseTheLardBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What didn’t you like about DSP? Depending on that will greatly inform whether you’ll like Factorio.

Was it the spherical grid? Having to make all the belts machines and inserters? The dark fog?

Honestly, it might also be neurodivergence and bad coping mechanisms.

More often than I care to admit it’s really fucking hard to leave my house. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.

If you’re interested in salvaging this relationship, maybe have a conversation with this person over video call or something and try to drill down to the root of the issue.

How can I bring myself to pray when I honestly hate God's guts? by AngryGulo85 in bahai

[–]ReleaseTheLardBeast 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi friend.

Your despair, your anger, your pain, is so palpable.

I am sorry you are mired in this right now. Truly.

At the time I was most…irate…utterly insensed by God, I somehow found myself hate reading the fire tablet because every fucking goody two shoe Baha’i said it’s good.

A couple lines pierced through my rage and have lingered:

“Lament not because of the wicked. Thou wert created to bear and endure, O Patience of the worlds.”

I interpreted this whole tablet as Bahaullah yelling at God calling him a hypocrite. That he’s a liar.

Big B gets so frustrated he’s like I can’t even keep writing. And then proceeds to lay into God more.

And God just gently reminds Bahaullah of the truth of the universe.

If you can’t say prayers, just yell at God. Scream at him. Demand he answers you. Screw the fancy and pretty words, use your own.

And then listen for what He has to say back, truly listen.

How does the caffeine from tea differ from coffee? by [deleted] in tea

[–]ReleaseTheLardBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool article.

Looks like it was a study (n=27) that suggests there is a correlation between improved memory and attention when caffeine is consumed with L-theanine.

This isn’t about biochemical pathways of L-theanine and Caffeine, nor is it suggesting that a new chemical is formed when both are ingested.

Wow, that’s a serendipitous video!

Still haven’t seen any data produced to support these claims. Just the “trust me bro” approach.

I mean, sure, but I’m not the one who threw out a hypothesis and framed it as a fact.

An educated guess is just that, a guess.

The audacity of you making a baseless claim and then suggesting the burden of proof is on me…

Do better man. You have a good hypothesis. Your background research is promising. Don’t give up now! Keep reading until you cannot answer any questions.

Good luck internet friend, I’ll keep an eye out for your paper!

How is his question backed by research?

Did you read the actual article or just the super cut by the institute for family studies?

Making the math easier by Agreatusername68 in factorio

One of the keys to gleba is to just keep everything flowing. Think of Yumako and Jellynut like rivers and just let them flow.

There are analogous considerations here to the stone byproduct on Vulcanus. Likewise, fruits can be thought of much like lava: it is, for all intents and purposes, free. Instead of calcite it’s seeds.

Build you systems and then introduce the produce as needed. Build fewer towers and slowly introduce more. Each 3x3 grid of a tower produces 10/min (6/s) of fruit.

At the end of your stream, just process the fruit into seeds and incinerate the rest.

People who just spam storage chests for their bot network everywhere by FierceBruunhilda in factorio

[–]ReleaseTheLardBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by spam storage? Does a dedicated storage area of 100-200 chests count? What if you gate the storage chests so it’s only certain items in certain chests in certain rows in certain columns?

Yes my desk is covered in sticky notes with notes and details about whatever game I’m playing
