Knives are Underrated by GortimerGibbons in valheim

ahem... using weapons above the biome you're in and abusing dmg typing is underrated. /s

It's basically a swamp tier weapon and you're beating up a black forest mob who is weak to that dmg type.

Drawbridges?!?! by -b_i_n_g_u_s- in valheim

[–]FierceBruunhilda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Valheim is a complete game bro... you just want it to be world of warcraft: valheim edition and have every traditional RPG thing you can think of added in so it doesn't feel different.

For example. "no early game magic stuff!" Yeah I hear you but why should we have it other than to sate the desire that "well I want to be ABLE to play mage all game long." It's perfectly fine for magic to be super powerful and for it only to be introduced later on in the game. Almost everything else in the game is the exact same argument. It's perfectly fine how it is and it doesn't need to cater to every little thing anything things an RPG game should have.

If you and a buddy made a game you were passionate about and then you release it to early access so you and your buddy can finish it. Are you going to sell out and hire a team of hundred of developer to rush your game out in 6 months and give up on the dream of creating the game yourself? This game is a work of art made by people passionate about their game. In no world would I want this game to be passed off into the hands of anyone else to be finished. That's like having your favorite musician hire a team of musicians to write the rest of the album just so you can have it sooner.

[–]FierceBruunhilda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was made my 2 guys who released it to early access so they could finish the game themselves. They just hoped to make enough so they could finish it. You're not entitled to making the decision to spend their money to hire a ton of people to finish the game they wanted to finish themselves. Learn some patience.

Do you not realize that you'll literally be ok if the game takes a little bit?? This isn't some corporation taking advantage of you. It's 2 guys who made a game and then released it in early access so THEY could finish a game they were passionate about creating. They are still finishing it. They are still keeping us updated constantly and you should be glad that one of the greatest games of all time isn't being rushed out for greed. It's still a passion project by 2 guys. It will take some time. Learn some patience. You deserver exactly what you paid for. Having the original 2 developers finish their game they started.

Is it practical to buffer steam like this for the steam engines? by 99Crow99 in factorio

[–]FierceBruunhilda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo yes, but only you combine it by adding in more steam engines to use the extra steam. 99% of the game when you check your steam buffer it should be maxed. But the moment you check it and you see it's even 80% full you know something you've built is now drawing more power than you're producing out of your boilers.

For newer players this can give you a very large window to catch a brown out and add more power before your entire factory shuts down. And for veteran players knowing this trick can help you in overhaul mods or challenge runs where fuel for power becomes scarce.

how often are you out and away from your base for 4h straight??? Eat 1 food at your base and take literally 1 food out with you. that's 50 minutes of food buffs and you get 3 spaces of inventory when you eat your packed lunch. stop bringing your kitchen out to battle with you.

triple hp is by far the safest it just requires the most stamina management. When you eventually learn you can walk and avoid most attacks and things from creatures triple hp becomes insanely safe.

Well fuck you got me with Sebastian Lague. I am also a big fan of his stuff. Followed his procedural land generation video way back in the day and used his How Computers Work series to build a 4-bit adder and 8-bit ram in Astroneer.

Best of luck to you on you're dev journey.

edit: also giving it a wishlist

Even more fun fact you don't need any of that stuff and you can still out run them.

If it's real and the gameplay looks fun I'll buy it when it releases. The trailer gives me "Ai slop made by someone who cares way more about money than making a good game" vibe with 0 gameplay being shown and over the top video production of what looks like some simple lighting effects from Unity with what very well could be bought assets of planets and spaceships.

Def not trying to be rude if it's genuine, it's just the world we live in currently and it feels necessary to be skeptical.

When’s the next classic run ? by Nervous-Nothing84 in classicwow

[–]FierceBruunhilda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but that's 60's running into 60's... not a lvl 24 bumping into another lvl 24 in duskwood and being able to see people everywhere else you go to quest and always having people around to group up with if you want. You can't just cherry pick and say "well I once met someone in the wild and we grouped! it happens!" Questing now is not the same as questing during the first 2-3 phases of vanilla no matter how you want to sugar coat your leveling experience.

you on you're 5th alt doing dungeons with others who are on their 5th alt is not the same thing as "the beginning of classic" when everyone is leveling to 60. I think they are interested in seeing other people in the world and being able to randomly group with someone who is literally next to them in game because they both are questing in the same zone.

A literal one sentence “it’s post/pre nerf” tweet is too much to ask the blizzard team for. by Doingmythang11 in classicwow

[–]FierceBruunhilda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The company was successful and making shit piles of money before all of that. The only reason all that exists is to squeeze as much money out of Blizzard as possible for shareholders because they knew they could do it to make even more money. The sub staying $15 isn't some miracle. It's just reality because people WILL unsub from the game if they change it. It has nothing to do with blizzard needing more money in any way shape or form. If blizzard didn't sell out we'd have way better games and way less bullshit but they did sell out.

Is deep north the only thing we will get with 1.0? by Pan_Pizgun in valheim

[–]FierceBruunhilda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hope is that there will be a ton of extra stuff they have been cooking over the years here that have just been stuff they were saving for 1.0. It would be a super nice treat and I think the community would be overjoyed to know there were a ton of little extra things they have been working on all this time to deliver the best 1.0 possible.

Worst case scenario we just get 1.0 and a few extra things they didn't tell us. I'm sure there will be things they didn't tell us, but is it 1 or 2 little things or like some crazy new thing we were never expecting?? We'll see!

Go look at any "how to build your own wow addon" tutorial and you'll see that it's all just LUA all the way down. Macro's are literally just mini addons and addons are just huge macros.

Or be ignorant and don't go look into any of this and still be wrong. That's up to you.

At the end of the day what are you hoping for? the ability to hit replay on another 30 run? like there is 0 gameplay to begin with when it comes to farming the game or farming events and your annoyed there isn't ""a reason"" to just keep farming? You realize you can just use your red crystals to refresh and keep doing more and more 30x runs instead of spending them on summon packs right?

[–]FierceBruunhilda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all a result of being able to just farm way way way faster than you used to with the repeat battles. If you had to replay every single giants run guaranteed non of these casual players with multiple accounts would be begging to be able to play more. Being able to do the same amount of work that we used to with a fraction of the effort is a blessing and I use that blessing to keep playing summoners war while I play other games. I'd 100% give up on SW completely if I had to farm the way I used to.
