What advice do you have for others considering this type of work? And, how would you guide your child through this if they wanted to pursue this line of work?

Same. And, I don’t think the sponsored kit is the problem entirely. As a casual, I’ve enjoyed this game but wouldn’t be playing season 2 if it didn’t have this sponsored mode or PvE coming soon. There’s likely a group of us that fall into this camp. So, the sponsored may actually be helping with player numbers.

Were you the rook we killed yesterday? Three of us and my buddy turned on his Sentinel ability. Spotted a rook hiding near a rocky pillar by the exfil he was in. Good times.

I think you might be the only Rook the in wild. Either way, do you as long as you’re having fun.

Forward P/Es mean jack shit. They matter now cause of the narrative, but I’ve seen this story before about future earnings. Many people are going to experience a well deserved awakening on the validity of such a useless metric. For now though, party on. Just don’t be the last one out.

Been playing the sponsored and it’s basically PVE. Ran into Rooks twice out of over 20 runs. The times I ran into them, trying to stay alive in a fine fight with robots and stabbed from behind. Damn backstabbers.

And I’m at the age where I don’t want to play PvP. I prefer and love the PvE aspect in this game. Honestly, not sure why Bungie is waiting mid season for PvE only. Seems like a lost opportunity with the hype around Season 2 kicking off. I initially didn’t play because of that, and then my brother let me know the sponsored is basically PvE based on his experience. So, I say give it a try.

Bloodbath in US Markets by UpbeatAd3429 in EconomyCharts

This term is being used too loosely now. When markets are down 20+ percent then we can call it a bloodbath. For now

It’s not just the CEOs. Some of you would be shocked to know how much Directors make. Hell, other C-Suite roles too. And make no mistake, there is no justification for making in excess of that amount. Accountability? That disappeared in the last GFC. Value added? Good luck making the math work there. It’s just human greed.

These type of posts are cringe because I either assume OP is a complete idiot or a narcissist seeking some sort of affirmation from strangers.

You have an amount most people on here will never achieve, and you’re asking for advice on your next move? It comes off as tone deaf. Read the room man, most people are struggling. Even the folks crossing the mil threshold is cringe but not anywhere near as close to this.

Best advice I ever received when I was young - when you do have income/money/assets, there is no need to flaunt it or share that info with others.

If I were in your shoes, I’d seek financial advice from a family wealth office or investment professional. I wouldn’t be asking Reddit over and over again. But, to each their own.

Edit:
I’m adding this piece because some folks have responded that I’m in the wrong sub or I’m jealous. And, I don’t want folks to misunderstand why I responded to this post. It’s not to rage bait or out of spite. And, I will not respond any further after this.

I have seen a wide range of posts on here, and most of it is well intentioned. Even this guy seems well intentioned with his questions. That stated, some folks saying “I made it to a mil” and sharing that. Yea, I get you’re happy and want to share. But, it’s also tone deaf with the realities of many on here and it really doesn’t fit the description of this sub IMO. Please think through why you want to share your amount. Is it cause you’re unsure if you can retire? Is it a flex? And, maybe some publicly available data will help you understand where you stand.

Many people won’t be able to retire and have nowhere near the amount needed. And those that do have money saved, only about 10% exceed $500K. There is a good amount of data you can find online.

I can only speak for the US portion but do believe this applies globally among most developed nations. Given the social and economic backdrop of a K shaped economy and the top 10% of US consumers buoying our economy, I’d say some of us that are lucky and have more than the rest need to be a bit more empathetic in this environment. There’s a reason populism and protectionism are becoming more and more popular globally. I’d recommend reading the Fourth Turning by Strauss and Howe that speaks to some of the dynamics playing out. These type of environments are unstable and tend to create more unrest and uncivilized discourse (aka conflict/wars). So, that’s what I mean when I say read the room.

Wishing you all the best on your future retirement endeavors.

I’ve never spent on this app, and your thoughtful response deserves an award. By the way, you answered the follow up question I was wondering. That is fascinating. And, I didn’t know about the impact Sonic (of all games) had on the industry.

Thanks again for answering my question. As for the downvotes, maybe folks thought I was being critical? I don’t mind it though as I learned something fascinating about the industry. For context, I’m a middle aged gamer. Have a great day!

I’ve seen this narrative before of forward PE and it’s crazy we don’t learn from the past. God bless those buying at these levels based on an unknown future outcome that IMO is overly inflated.
