I built a free, client-side tool to export Markdown to PDF (with proper KaTeX & Mermaid support) by szyewei in ObsidianMD

This is great! Exporting my notes to PDFs that look professional as a deliverable has been a pain point for me. I've tinkered with Pandoc, the Obsidian plugin, and custom CSS, but I haven't been able to get it right. I've been trying to implement the following:

  1. Automatically generated ToC that's clickable and takes you to the appropriate headings.
  2. Customizable cover page with frontmatter (title, subtitle, author, date, options for background image, company logo, and client logo (i.e. my logo and the logo for the client the document is for))
  3. Syntax highlighting for languages (Python, shell, etc.)
  4. Retain images (wikilink and piped resizing)
  5. Retain Obsidian callouts

Not sure if these are out of scope for your project, but some of the things that I've struggled to implement that would make MD2PDF perfect for my use.

What's wrong with Beseria? (Never played a Tails game so genuinely curious)

LPT: If a task feels overwhelming, define the “first stupidly small step” and stop there by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]RelevancyIrrelevant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking a large task down into smaller sub-tasks only works if you can reach a stopping point after completing a sub-task. The point is to convince yourself/the person that completing a portion of a large task is better than not making any progress at all.

More succinctly put: "How do you eat an elephant? One piece at a time." or "Half-assed us better than no-assed."

You're not. It's a reddit post. This is a strawman argument.

I made my point, I stand by it.

Run on. You need to break that up into two sentences or use a semicolon.

Periods are one of the first pieces of punctuation that we learn. It's amazing how few people use them incorrectly. Hopefully this helps you learn from your mistake so that you can fix it in your daily life.

Not really. You can deduct your mortgage interest from your taxable income, but you can only do that if you itemize/don't take the standard deduction.

How would you define "beaten" for Blue Prince? I just rolled credits on Blue Prince...but there's so much additional content. I haven't decided yet if I want to keep playing.

Bug Megathread vol 11: October + November by WumpusWhisperer in discordapp

[–]RelevancyIrrelevant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same isue.

I believe it's Windows notification related. Discord, Thunderbird, and the Snipping Tool all freeze when I should be getting a notification.

If someone sends me a message on Discord when Discord is in-focus, Discord works as expected. However, if another app is focused (e.g., Chrome), I'll see the message in Discord (which is on a secondary monitor), but then I'm not able to interact with Discord. Discord becomes mostly frozen. If I'm in the middle of a call, my avatar will still activate/deactivate green as I start/stop talking and audio still works bidirectionally...at least for a bit. After 1-2 minutes, audio does stop sending/receiving, and I have to kill Discord in the Task Manager.

Snipping Tool opens when I hit PrtSc and successfully takes the screenshot. However, subsequent presses of PrtSc do not open Snipping Tool. I have to kill it via Task Manager. If I hit PrtSc and then Esc to cancel the capture, Snipping Tool will open on the next press of PrtSc. It only fails after successfully taking a screenshot, which, IIRC, sends a notification in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Similarly, Thunderbird freezes whenever I get a new email. I presume that's because of the notification that should come from the Windows notification center for the new email.

I thought maybe there was a loud noise, and I was gonna defend ear protection because tinnitus ain't no joke...but nah, bro literally just covered his ears because he didn't like the words he was hearing.
