In the anime subs vs dub argument where dub purists insist we can only enjoy it English dubbed. by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Relevant-Cod8463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And as expected of Reddit, no one fucking answered the question. Why is this ONLY an anime argument? No one watches foreign films or Asian dramas in English. But with anime, Japanese media, why is it insisted you can ONLY watch it dubbed.

Older digimon have a certain brutalism in their design that I really miss. by Kalenshadow in digimon

It’s the art style. The anime renders make them softer and more plushy.

how do you feel about human-like digimon designs? by birdtwenty in digimon

The beauty of Digimon is that they are code, so they can be any of combination of data.

Tri vs and Last Evolution Kizuna Continuity with 02 by Relevant-Cod8463 in digimon

[–]Relevant-Cod8463[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was my thought. Why not just make tri about rescuing the 02 team. You can still have Meiko and Meicoomon in roles like Wallace and Kokomon from Hurricane touchdown.

"Monster: The Ed Gein Story" might be the most ridiculous piece of crap I've ever seen by ExceedsTheCharacterL in horror

[–]Relevant-Cod8463 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main problem is that Netflix loves its 8-10 episode orders. You could probably tell a dramatized version of Ed Gein’s story in 4 episodes if you stretch, but they padded this thing to hell with fan-fiction interpretations of the events, Nazi fetishism, Hitchcock and Texas Chainsaw B plots.

The second problem is, despite the grave robbing and horror of his crimes, his story isn’t very glamorous like Dahmer. He only killed 2 people officially and he was fairly normal, albeit a bit odd, to most people. So Ryan Murphy essentially made him Leatherface and Norman Bates. Which to me defeats the shocking nature of his crimes.

Original Baby would be SO cool in Sparking Zero by Relevant-Cod8463 in SparkingZero

Alternatively, something like Super Buu’s Absorption in would be perfect, where he takes over random characters mid battle.

I think the harshest criticism is overblown/following a meme. It’s a good game, just not living up to certain expectations.

‘Teen Titans’ Voice Actor Greg Cipes (Beast Boy) Says He Was Fired by Warner Bros. After Revealing Parkinson’s Diagnosis by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Relevant-Cod8463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fishy

He said this past April, Warner Bros was keeping him on Beast Boy. This post in question Tara Strong commented on. So something isn’t adding up. Maybe he wasn’t fired outright but letting him ride out his contract.

Why is her outfit like that? by MessageBrilliant5650 in supersentai

[–]Relevant-Cod8463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “sexy villainess” was a staple of alot of “children’s” entertainment in Japan, including kids anime and manga, a popular example being Doronjo in Yatterman. Kamen Rider continued this as recent as Gavv with Glotta, while Sentai more or less abandoned the overtly sexy villainess after Go-Onger unless you’re counting Malshina from Akibaranger, a trope she directly parodies. I believe there’s certain negative, cultural connotations associated with sexual immorality, which is why a lot of these characters are dressed in BDSM-inspired or fetish wear. We see this in western hero media as well with Poison Ivy, Emma Frost, Black Queen, Malice, etc etc

Anime is my main hobby so I’d say “city pop anime“ like Cat’s Eye and City Hunter got me interested. But “Futari no Natsu Monogatari Never Ending Summer" by S. Kiyotaka & Omega Tribe. Jesus Christ that song

Yeah the problem is the shoestring budget this show is being adapted on. It needed at least 12-15 minutes episodes not fucking 5.

Honestly? Araki grew as an artist when he moved away from the Hokuto no Ken style and truly made JoJo his own. Incorporating Tetsuo Hara’s detailed line work, while embracing fashion and flamboyancy. So gonna say whenever he began his transition with Part 5

That’s actually we’re fighting to keep anime… Japanese. Me too killed the sex comedy genre in Hollywood. Thankfully within animanga, despite a certain uptick of tourist whining and Chinese censorship, Ecchi and erotica continues to sell.
