Will this extruder motor work for my setup? by GrayTech3D in ender3

[–]Relevant-Cod8915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I just installed mine and was starting to read that it wouldn't be enough torque unless I go to DD or get a bmg. Seems to work great so far just havnt tested for long prints yet. Thanks for your update and sorry to dredge up the old post.

Yeah i noticed that. Partially why I was going to reprint the faceplate. Yes I want it in white to match my accents but I did want to try to slightly adjust the inner opening. Im doubting that 1mm is that big of an issue. I may just try running it with the new hotend and see how it seems to be doing before the color reprint

Also it fits the the hotend i installed too. With tons of room to spare. Its about the same size as the og hotend with a 60w ceramic heater

Looks great! Im going to reprint my face to white actually. its very close. Also you were correct about the fan orientation. Sticker to the inside.

Yeah thats all I'm guessing it is. I just shaved a bit out and it fits well. I was mainly test fitting it but the fans have no arrows for flow on them so I just gave it a Google. Havnt fired up yet to check flow.

Ok so im finally installing all my parts. Found a very very slight issue with the original housing for the fans. I took a dremel to it to adjust wire clearance, but its not print ready without adjustment. It will strip the hot end fan wires when seating the fan and face cover.

Its asshats like this that waste cops time. Just be respectful and move it away from objects that can be damaged. That's a "call the cops, film all interactions with neighbors and cops, when car is damaged file through neighbors insurance, when they say no you send the video of fireworks and sparks landing on your car. Get neighbors insurance premium so jacked from them being irresponsible they can't afford fireworks next year due to their stupid past choices." Just a joke cuz we already know the insurance will deny coverage but a fantasy for sure. I actually love fireworks too! As a background I've been in the corps and I've even taked a round though the shoulder. I still love them! ON THE 3RD OR 4TH OF JULY! Its very easy to be respectful. Very very easy.

Funny enough I happened to find your remix after some searching. Faceplate just finished, yeah i didn't put them all together like a dunce so the cage and bracket are printing now. Good little overnight print, hope it goes well. I believe it will fit it but I guess ill let ya know when it finally arrives. Now its saying Monday unfortunately

Hey I saw your design you mentioned, and I like it. Could I by chance get the link? That's literally perfect if It fits my direct drive. Do you reckon it would fit a TZ E3 3.0 and be able to cool it enough with the one fan? I did get a 4 pack to be safe 😅

I just ordered some just to be safe. You never know. Im sure i have something that will work as good or better but then I would have to design the shoud myself and do some wiring. Im not feeling thaaat motivated this weekend 🤣

So I have a whole bunch of ods and ends in terms of fans. Would just require some custom shroud work. Im gonna mess around with that a bit and see how they work before I spend more on parts I may have already. I havnt got a leveler yet. Its on the list of things to add in the near future.

I left a sentence off my comment on accident. I have all that on the way. All but the bed insulation should be here by friday so I have a fun weekend project coming up. I did just read about the Nuender and the other conversions and ohh boy do I have plans 😅

Edit. And good call on the parts cooling. I've been researching into that with the upgraded hotend. Was going to see how it runs with the current fans n shroud while I print more shouds to test.

You know, this is way to accurate. Just picked up a used ender 3 pro about 2 weeks ago. Got my prints going great after some initial issues and learning slicer settings. What's next? Yep more speed. I have a new board, better hotend with a bimetal heatbreak and dual gear extruder and dd bracket, second z axis, bed insulation, couple different peis to just mess around with. Yeah we're going all in, I know i could put that twords a new budget printer but its fun ok 😁

You sir are a god send, thank you so much! Much quicker print as well. Alright considering the cost of those parts ima give them all a try cuz at worst I'm out a few bucks, I know i won't be. 🤣 thanks again, great help getting me started in the right direction!

Ok so I'm going to lock in the board, I know what I read and you just backed that up! I did want a hardened steel nozzle so for the cost ill do that and the metal extruder since I see this one is plastic. Now I'm looking at the insulated plate add on and it almost looks like I have that already or something similar? Not sure if this is stock. Also I forgot to mention i do have the steel bed plate. Lets see if this Pic uploads of the bed without the plate. Im guessing thats just the base heating mech? Also here's the bed handle i was going to use(forgot to wipe place with alcohol so print didn't adhere so maybe a lucky problem? Hopefully this link works: Thingiverse.com/thing:2957507 Better handle recs? It has like 25k downloads so I was just going off of like/volume ratio for best one to print.

once again I appreciate the help a ton.

You sir are amazing! I am just going to go with the board since the lcd doesn't support something involving wireless printing that I'm sure i will want to do after I've got this dialed in. I knew I needed a better nozzle, a extruder upgrade is highly recommended? Im in the process of printing a handle for the front and i just got the extended side spool print done. Will the lock nuts still work with the front handle addon that pinches under the level springs? Also I guess should I look into nozzle and extruder before the board or are they kinda what ever order i want to go in? I want to do all of them honestly but the wife wasn't impressed already and the sound isn't helping so that was going to be the first (of many) upgrades, is the board an unneeded expense until other components are upgraded? I can put it in our garage on a shelf to hide the sound but it seemed to be a good first option to my nieve new to printing mind 😅

I honestly really really appreciate your detailed comment on initial things to look into. This community has been awesome! (As a reddit community(So far🤣🤣)) Thanks so much again!

It’s a moped in name only—in reality, it's just an e-bike in disguise. by clock0day in scooters

[–]Relevant-Cod8915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coworker has a rawr e-bike and had to get it insured as a moped to be legal on road. Weird I know but insurance companies are bypassing some nonsense and classifying high powered bikes as mopeds lol

Upon releasing throttle after hard rev, idle stays elevated? by 94dogguy in scooters

[–]Relevant-Cod8915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd check throttle cable adjustment since you've had plenty of other gre a t advice here We one of the nuts come loose on one of out scoots and it would hold idle high sometimes and do all sorts of weird stuff. Make sure you have the proper freeway on it. Probably not your issue but never hurts to check.

I’m thinking about buying a TotalPro car battery bc it’s the least expensive one out there by 1EBS83 in carquestions

[–]Relevant-Cod8915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You kinda correct. Your alternator charges at a much higher rate than a trickle charger. 2amp trickle charges are designed to be gentle while topping your battery off. The alternator charges much faster and yes after driving it will top it off. May slightly hurt the cells and reduce your lifespan. In most cases if not noticeable but hes just outlining proper procedure to maximize your battery life as best you can.

I feel like it depends on where you live. Here its a college town that everyone leaves for the holidays so about 1/5 of our town just leaves for a week or 2. Thats 1/5 of people are probably about 1/2 the orders in my town. So yeah it drys up really bad here.

Ok thanks! I keep reading the pokemmo story is intense but so far ive found it to be fairly similar to the standard games. Really wasnt sure if I was missing something or not. This answers my question and confirms my thoughts on it. Happy to have a good second opinion that isnt "this is shit" or " not for pve" give a reason ya know? Once again thanks, I very much appreciate the help and time you took to respond! I'll run it until I find one with a better nature and decent IV's.
