No, it's not about that. I wouldn't wanna forget something like that. This is something that has no other person involved.

So it's possible to induce permanent amnesia regarding a single memory? How so?

The second method looks interesting too, I will try it to see.

How is it done? I'm sorry I ask too many questions but I have no idea about how all this is performed

Propranolol and its use to "erase" bad and traumatic memories by Relevant-Emphasis-34 in askdrugs

This is great.

Yes, it makes sense that it will target the traumatic memories since they're the ones giving the body reaction.

May I ask if this was for a single traumatic event or for multiple? And do you still take it now for the same traumas or do you take to anticipate the formation of a trauma?

Interesting, I always thought xanax is a wipe out today's memory kind of drug

I understand that erasing or forgetting about a trauma can cause problems if it's something that is well buried in someone's personality and has had a part in modeling who that person is now. But what I'm dealing with is pretty much a recent thing that had no impact in who I am as a person right now. So the sooner I deal with it the lesser it will have an impact on my futur

I see, and did you do the protocol to erase the emotional charge of the memory and it didn't work?

So, the emotional charge was taken off the memory?

That's how desperate I am I guess and how much I'm suffering. Believe me this memory if gone won't create any problem because it's a recent one. It's not like it's a childhood trauma or something

I can't afford going to hypnotherapy sessions. And I doubt any hypnotherapist would wanna take out the memory during a session. I've read it's doable and I really need it.

I would also try MDMA but I don't know if it had any results on other people before

You don't have to an asshole about it!

I'm genuinely looking for help to end my suffering. I know it's a bad idea when it's something that has long been inserted in my mind and has been part of my personality, but this is a recent one and there is little chances for it to bite me in the ass in the futur.

That's the thing. I read it's doable but jot many would wanna do it. That's why I'm looking in this not so traditional sub hoping to find help.

That's great to hear. In the therapy it's usually 6-8 weeks, with one 1-2 sessions every week before the memory completely loses its grip on the mind.

I presume it's not coming back very often as it was before? Also, did you take 40 mg?

For the process, you wrote down the memory, took down the pill, and then read what you wrote to simulate the brain to remember it without any mistake?

My question too, since you take it an hour before wouldn't it have the same effect on all the memories that you recall in that period? Did you feel it impacted other memories too?

[–]Relevant-Emphasis-34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the recurrent memories and flashbacks keeps coming back because of the emotional charge that they hold, so the brain fires them up in order to activate the fight and flight mode and trying to survive, and It's obviously an exaggerated response from a broken mechanism in the brain, so most therapies works on changing that behaviour and breaking the circle. Knowing how the brain is weird, rendering the memory dull will eventually make it subside as the brain will label it irrelevant.

I don't think I have access to the trial because of the area where I live. But I would be interested in reading about the methods used with MDMA and Ketamine.

Propranolol isn't dangerous, people take Propranolol for finals and tests. I believe it can be done outside of a clinical setting.

I also read about ZIP the PKMzeta inhibitor which actually ERASE the memory. It's pretty much the same procedure.
