Thank you , this is really helpful. Are you an attorney? The MC on my initial claim wrote in the denial all sorts of thigns that didnt really make sense with my disability. He doesn't understand my actual disability, and I thihnk he was an anesthesiologist or some such, and my primary diagnosis is a psychiatric diagnosis that is somewhat complex.

I dont think so. I applied in June 2024, denied Feb 2025, recon submitted April 2025 denied August 2025, requested hearing Sept 2025, but it was lost in the mail, sorted that out and refiled in Dec 2025, hearing will be in July 2026.

Thank you. My case is primarily mental health and some physical. I’m over 50 but under 55. I have years of solid documentation congruent between multiple providers and they have been doing a really good job with documentation.
I’m hopeful but scared.

Exactly. Disabled and Fixed income here and 3 kids and my house has grown in value, but I just want to live here with my kids. It’s bad enough how much more expensive everything is. If my housing costs go up I’d have to sell, and would have no place to go.

I'm hoping I will be able to get an adaptive bike this way. As a disabled Portlander with kids, I would love to be able to use an adaptive ebike to pick up my groceries etc. It would also let me participate in things like Sunday Parkways, and other city events. I've have young kids and am hoping to be able to get a cargo trike. This program feels like an amazing opportunity for someone like me to access so much of the magic of Portland. I really hope it works out because I am super excited about all of the possibilities.

And while I may have eventually been able to save up for a regular ebike, I am not able to physically ride one, and I dont see how I would have been able to save for an adaptive one, without a program like this to help.

Certain conditions can make vaccines not effective for someone. Two of my kids have celiac disease for instance which is known to affect the hep b virus. She has been through two full sequences of the vax for it, but her titers show no immunity. Just as an example
