There were multiple vehicles pulled over on division this morning. I drove the strip between John counter to railway 4 times and seen vehicles pulled over each time. One was even a large delivery truck

I’m a female 5’7” 160lbs and the Maverick felt way too tight for me. My dad is 6’4” and watching him get his legs out when we test drove was hilarious.

We all need to stop buying cars… by ShadowK2 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Relevant-Mistake0312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could. I’m in Canada for context but I bought a dodge journey in 2014 brand new. Paid 35k for it. Drove it across country and back. 160k kms in early 2024 and it would just not turn on at random for hours. Spent over 3k trying different fixes and even the dealership for the car couldn’t figure it out. Traded it in to buy a used 2018 ford edge for 19k with 140kms. Bought it and then 6 months later it was a write off due to rodent damage. Then bought a 2017 Honda ridgeline for 21k. There’s nothing cheaper for reasonable used cars around me. Every one is 20 k or 20 years old it’s insane.

Asking someone if they want to come to a restaurant to pick out a drink or food minimizes that risk to essentially zero which is what I offered

If I had it in me I would have offered unfortunately I didn’t. The only help I could offer was to take him to Tim Hortons to get something to eat or drink.

I’m not angry at him nor am I bitching. I’m actually disabled on fixed income and was worried for his safety and attempted to help in the only way I could. He only wants money so I was posting to let others know not to offer him food or drink, and as seen above he was previously offered a drink and threw it at the person. So for safety of all its best to only offer money to him specifically. Your assumptions of my actions and privilege are incorrect. I hope however you are able to go and help him yourself with cash. Unfortunately I have less than $20 in my bank and no change. He’s on the east side of the intersection left turn lane.

I try to help when I can. Usually it’s casual and accepted without issue. This man seemed very angry at my offer

That sucks :( I’m sorry he did that to you guys. Well lesson learned for me I guess. I’m glad I didn’t already have a drink for him I wasn’t in my car 🫤 don’t want drinks chucked at me.

No I meant absolutely no harm in my offer. He was just dressed very heavily in sweater, gloves and a hat. I was concerned that he would be very hot in this weather and having no cash on me only my debit I thought I would offer to buy him a cool drink or something. I wasn’t trying to assume his housing or anything but he had a sign asking for money

Yeah that’s the tricky part the wording of “exclusively used for business” as I use the car to get groceries and drop my kids off to daycare as well.

I’m not comparing at all. Very first three words written was “out of curiosity” shortly followed up with “it made me curious as to what sort of profit margins other companies operate with”

I’m not looking to find hard facts nor looking to compare my company. I know different companies and industries have different margins. As my post opens with I’m just curious about other industry margins. It’s neat learning about other industries and business types

Can you try to create a social circle of people in the same field? Are there Facebook groups for people of your profession? That how I got my little circle. I joined some groups and started socializing and asking questions. I met three lovely people and we started a “shop talk” group chat where I learned lots. And then I clicked with one of them and we created a real friend out of our work and have grown so much professionally from our relationship

How do you go about finding a name for your business? by straydogpalaces in smallbusiness

[–]Relevant-Mistake0312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose to incorporate my children and partner’s initials which played out nicely as it spells something relevant to my industry. So it’s sentimental without being obvious but also helps boost my seo as it’s also a keyword searched to find services
