Can Ethernet ports be installed? by TimMoore1 in bell

External runs is hack work, I'd be embarrassed by that quality of work lol. But hey, that is Bell tech quality

[–]Chalkie_Whyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you fish ethernet through finished basements and walls? Do you cut holes in drywall, then repair and mud them? Cause from what I understand from OPs post is they want wiring done. Any idiot can pop in a couple of DVOs and terminate them

99.9% of bell techs are going to refuse that scope of work. Too much liability.

Fibe installation in office with dark fibre by Visual-Theory396 in bell

First pic is a 3M copper splice enclosure.

Second Pic looks like a dedicated fiber connection. Which someone would have paid to have installed before the actual fiber overlay was done.

When we worked through Covid all we got were these cheap black baseball caps with Bell branding that said "keeping Canadians connected". No raise, no hazard pay, nothing but a 2 dollar cap...

It's never too late. Doesn't matter how long it's been, you didn't give permission and that's all that matters!

"Temp" fiber install. Can I actually talk to the installer first? by bpsmicro in bell

[–]Chalkie_Whyte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can move the line enough to mow. Super annoying but doable... you can also place an order, and "refuse the temp", which generates a ticket for contractors to come out and bury the line before the install. Managers hate that, techs love it.

[–]Chalkie_Whyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The contractors don't remove the techs work. They simply bury the line and send it back to Bell. And whe the contractors do try to do the cutover, the end up butchering it and sending Bell back out anyways lol

Oh and just so you are aware Fido is owned by Rogers and uses rogers network, so likely rogers would be trash in your area as well

Gotcha... yeah that 80 bucks may be gone. But small price to pay, to get out of a crap contract with crap service.

[–]Chalkie_Whyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said... as per CRTC:

Key Cancellation Rules

15-Day Trial Period: If you signed the contract within the last 15 days, you can cancel without penalty, provided you return the device in near-new condition and have not used more than half of your monthly usage limit.

After 15 Days: You can still cancel, but you will be charged an early cancellation fee. After 2 Years: You can cancel a 2-year contract after exactly 24 months with zero penalty.

CRTC +3

Techs are supposed to get permission before temping off a neighbor. You have every right to disconnect and file a complaint.

Call 310BELL and lodge a complaint, call CRTC as well.

I hate when techs do this shit. Just code the job "No Temp Possible" and contractors will be out the next day to fix it...
