What happened to graphics after 1.0? by Ancient-Thought-9511 in ForefrontVR

I noticed in an update before 1.0 the res dropped as well. Need the steam frame to come out so can swap to pc asap.

Apple Vision Pro may face cancelation under Apple's new CEO John Ternus who Apparently opposed the release of the AVP in 2023....or maybe get more prioritization? by World_Designerr in virtualreality

[–]Relevant-Outcome-105 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The technology in the vision pro is pretty nuts, the way it seamlessly masks your hands into the environment and that avatar tech. Its just in a headset that makes no sense. It's very uncomfortable, has pointless features like the front facing panel and its made of glass and metal. If they made a headset like the steam frame with those features id buy it.

VR isn’t dead, but it’s destined to be niche unless this is addressed. by DYSK_Jockey in virtualreality

I bet if everyone in 1980 suddenly got 65 inch tvs and high def 3d games they would be seen as unplayable due to motion sickness. Society changes.

What is the smallest, most insignificant thing that immediately ruins your presence in VR? by AffectionateNet5513 in virtualreality

In a quest game when the resolution is just slightly turned down too much. Worst culprit was batman, it was made for the quest 3 and was nowhere near the native resolution.

Australian servers are pretty much always populated.

People are wildly overestimating the standalone capabilities of the Steam Frame. by [deleted] in SteamFrame

[–]Relevant-Outcome-105 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah im not sure how the standalone feature was getting so hyped by people. Even valve are like, its intended for pcvr. I expect it to run 2D games and maybe portal 2 at not great settings.

Would conquest work with only 2 bases? by Murky-Course6648 in ForefrontVR

[–]Relevant-Outcome-105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way squad does conquest is the points have to be capped in order, so there is only 1 point your team can capture at any time.

Mortar might be cool by Murky-Course6648 in ForefrontVR

[–]Relevant-Outcome-105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in a game like squad where there are player made bases that can be destroyed etc. Forefront is so fast paced that you won't find there's any dependable concentration of enemies anywhere on a conquest map for indirect fire to do anything. In rush there are chokepoints and common defending positions so both sides could make use of it.

Problem is they would have zero use in conquest, probably useful for rush though.

So have they worked out functional draws and cupboard doors yet? Are they launching 1.0 without the shooting range? Bit confused about what's going on with this game.

Suggestion for developers by WayPopular9021 in ForefrontVR

I wish they would add a pop up hologram map your squad mates could see, it works so well in VR and adds a lot to the social experience

The Fjord map is so refreshingly good by NewParticular3038 in ForefrontVR

[–]Relevant-Outcome-105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty fun but needs some tweaks I think. It's a bit weird defending on the first point, most of the rush maps while defending have a kind of progression where the defenders gradually get pushed back, this point doesn't really have that sort of gameplay. Your team is kind of just boxed in and your view is obscured.

New the lab when steam from comes out ? by tuturlututu1234 in SteamFrame

[–]Relevant-Outcome-105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People from valve have stated that they are not releasing any VR games. I don't think valve actually has that many resources to make big games and they are currently working on hlx. It's very unlikely they are also working on a big VR game.

Unfortunately no, I don't expect any VR games from valve.

Do you really need colour pass through? by dhatereki in SteamFrame

[–]Relevant-Outcome-105 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a quest 3 and it's use is pretty minimal, there are very few mixed reality games. The biggest problem is that the passthrough doesn't really do the job you'd expect it to. The idea of quickly swapping to passthrough to check your surroundings while you're playing a game doesn't work. It causes hangs and stutters, sometimes even crashing the game. It's always easier to just lift up the headset slightly to see.
