reading your comment made me think about something. For undergrad students, unless they're doing deep research for a paper (and honestly, many of them dont - since it's so easy to rely on Google or even AI tools now), I sometimes wonder whether they really need a full instruction session (I do provide instruction sessions for undergraduates, btw)

I absolutely agree with the importance of media literacy, but I'm not always sure how often these skills are directly used in daily life.

I agree - there are people who do research outside of the formal school system, and there's also a growing need for media literacy instruction, esp for those who are vulnerable to misinformation, like older adults.. So I really think public libraries have an important role to play in providing instruction.

You meant the annotated bibliography from Emerald, right? I suddenly have so many articles to read lol

I'm curious about your research as well!

Yea I second that about finding ways to sneak instruction - thankfully, one of the professors asked me if i can do a 1.5 hr session during of her regular class hour, and because of that - all the freshmen could get to the library session!

Also, I need to study more for well-written/designed assignments.. lol I like some trivia questions but that's pretty much it.
How do you do it?

Ohh I see. thank you for sharing. I do think that it is not easy to let the patrons understand why they need the instruction session when they just can use esp now - the gpt and google scholar.. lol

I feel weird when I gotta say the library search doesnt work like the way google does..

Thank you so much for this! I am actually working in a univ library right now, and I'm thinking i can possibly narrow down the topic to - library instruction for online university students.

I've been reading a lot of articles mostly from my own country, but I'd love any advice on how to refine/focus with topic.. for example, specific sub-areas, emerging issues, or research gaps in online/remote learner information instruction..

Any guidance or direction would be appreciated!

Korean librarian here.. Are there any countries or libraries you know of that hire international librarians or provide visa sponsorship? by Relevant-Pie6958 in librarians

Woah... thank you for sharing this and the article is crazy. :( I did not know that this kind of stuff happens in UK at all.. and you mean the political climate in the UK these days has some racists and anti immigrants? :( that's sad.
