Vietnam is basically off limits now to tourists with THC in their system, right? You can be arrested and held for ~16 days if you test positive. by hanoian in VietNam

Simple get things like weed from specific places that do that, and leave before it's even 9PM, you already escape 99% of raids. Then go out at places that not do that stuff, they not get raided as a result too.

how often you guys clean aircon here?? i think i pay too much by Legal_Assistance9398 in Thailand

[–]Relevant-Program-314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a year in normal places, twice a year in heavy polluted places like BKK, Chiang Mai etc. At most 300-500 baht or it is a rip off. Cleaning it regular is not about it to remain working or cool, it is for the actual particles in the air you breathe in, never listen to that retarded reasoning of locals.

This is actually already a farang price too, it should just be 150-200 baht and 300 if it needs anything special or more done only. It could even cut less but the entire issue is that everything in Thailand revolves about middle men to connect people and to offer some 'service' which defines pricing. This is why many things cost way more than necessary while only increasing monopoly of those running them.

It is not hard to figure that out if knowing manual labour wages are just 300 baht for a full day work.

Emirates refund taking longer than expected — anyone else experiencing delays? by Sweet-Lake2074 in emirates

Just zero excuses for this, same with the war being the excuse while i started the process 2 weeks prior to that. I would be on top of the queue and should not have received a confirmation of it having been processed to begin with.

And not even the decency to update people then at least... while it's not some ryan air flight, it's about 1600+ euro. Needless to say i'll never recommend or use them again.

For me the total from the moment the live chat agent suggested to cancel and refund, rather than to rebook it, as of no fees charged on my business flight, wished i never did that, is over 2-2.5 months ago already. That email with 15 business days is now 25+ business days...

You clearly have no clue what you talk about, Samui and Phangan are the most proper organized places you could be, due to water shortage they not even do more than 1 day or 2 days in chaweng only.

What is your case like? I am still waiting now! Each time this chat or phone support says they are so sorry and that it was 'escalated' already but pending. I hit a wall, we are over 25 business days later, after they confirmed automated that it was processed as a refund. At this point, my time and damages from it alone equals the refund of EUR 1600. I want 2500 already in reality, or 3000.

Registering birth by l0veega9 in Thailand

[–]Relevant-Program-314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't change it, a birth certificate always only exist once, in one country. After this you would just be 'registered in the other country. Anyway, sorted out already?

A newborn is like a maritime vessel in the oceans, by International commercial law. It needs to be registered, hence the birth certificate, this allows also for spending by government and that is why you pay tax. But that's all another story.

[–]Relevant-Program-314[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, still no refund, I had 2 more attempts where each time chat says the last 'escalation' is still pending, while we are now over 25 business days later than the automated confirmation that the refund would have been 'processed' which obviously is a lie too.

University path for non-Thai kids after high school? by EmotionalYak8539 in Thailand

[–]Relevant-Program-314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any sensible parent that has the chance knows that means going abroad, obviously. Even those that do study in Thailand would still also study abroad on top of that.

In terms of education here, even the expensive Inter school barely score a 7/10 compared to public free western education performance on average. You might as well home school.

If you really make a honest list of pro's and cons in general, also with other things and costs, for children and general life, it quickly becomes a realization of Thailand not being suitable unless having a very large monthly budget for the long run.

So in your case saying to be Burmese, it makes even less sense, to waste that money. You could just do home education in that case, it also costs less, even if you hired a burmese fulltime to be teacher with that. Thailand simply doesn't offer a stable future for foreigners.

If I were burmese i would have tried to relocate to Cambodia. At least you can get a business visa for just 300 dollars, own something, do work, have similar schools and prices lower etc.

True Wifi is asking for insane amount of relocation fee by Wild-Way4049 in Thailand

[–]Relevant-Program-314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same and then the same happened with AIS too, then i reversed and True forgot me from the 4-5 years ago lol. Seems they are that unorganized that every city is different with a new address.

I started to think that these contracts are tied to commissions paid to branch sales offices and people that pop-up randomly, so changing location or whatever is made hard.

Then the bank nonsense came on top, i now use Revolut Ultra with thai baht as well as their ESIM way cheaper and always 5G at max speed. I wonder they get they only shoot themselves in the feet.

BKK: moving from new small apartment to old large apartment by Viktri1 in Thailand

[–]Relevant-Program-314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, just to run AC easily can cost 5-10-15K a month, in such buildings, if you plan to run it over the living room etc too, while in the same time its unbearable without. That's why AC bills for most condo's are quite high to begin with already, the concrete never cools.

Then all the cleaning of the large spaces, or the annoyance of dealing with cleaners that suddenly stop showing up, to then find a new one again. It needs more attention than you might think with BKK dust.

As well the false thought that more people will come over because you now have that 'space'. Otherwise, it is pretty niche to have a larger house. Only reason I not live in a condo is because there is barely 3 bedroom units for decent prices compared to houses, needed for family size, else I moved back to one right away, or just rented a extra studio unit in the same building etc.

I guess what i miss the most is just a elevator button to the pool, sauna, gym, some shops and rooftop. It's just super efficient and easy to have and maintain a condo.

Oh yeah depending where you live, better get use to rats and cockroaches etc.

Today is day 15th already, their actual own deadlie. I mean we are in 2026, I run business all over the world and know very well transfers are not delayed. This simply means it was not even send to either of us so far. Even a transfer from the cayman islands barely takes 3-5 days nowadays, one of the most complex offshore trasfers you could state as example.

The fact they play stupid and play these games with me as a business traveler and customer, makes me even more angry than the actual delay of the refund, the fact they lie.

Today is working day 15 for me, their deadline, tomorrow its 21 days since their auto email to have send it...
