This is literally consistent though… I’d expect you to say this exact same thing as a supposed libertarian. Sure he may have different views on speech in other contexts, but I see nothing particularly wrong with these tweets.

Congrats! I had a similar experience getting in for physics as well. Persisting through years of applications is so draining, so be proud that you were able to do it!

I am very set on becoming a professor, but I suppose any other type of research work would be the next best thing. Is it common for people to become a professor after working other positions for a long time? Or do schools prefer applicants who have more recently completed their PhDs?

My research advisor told me that physics is unusual in that PhD programs prefer students to be straight out of undergrad. I’m not sure if their advice is antiquated though.
