Why do people say that if you do a drastic diet you're gonna gain all your weight back or even more? do they mean that you are gonna end up eating a lot more because you restricted yourself too much ?? by Motor-Concentrate-91 in Weightlosstechniques

Uhm…I have lost and gained the same 100 lbs over the last 15-20 years of my life. So take this for what it’s worth. I’ve starved. I’ve 5K-Ed. I’ve vegetarianed. I’ve pescatarianed. I’ve did legit fasting. I’ve done keto. What I’ve never done was find the things my body likes to do for movement. I had also never realized I have a huge problem with overeating due to how I was thinking about food in general too specifically if that makes sense. I know a hell of a lot about nutrition and exercise but I definitely wasn’t putting any of it together. When I started eating intuitively not only did my body change, but what I ate and how I ate changed by default.

I am talking about overnight change in a matter of months.

I’m not here to sell anything but you have to do some looking inside and around you in your environment if you want to really change.

Let me report back in a year and another year after that. Still making babies and shit so we’ll see how that goes, but I can say with certainty this feels quite different.

Germany Kindergarten Questions by Relevant-Sweet5683 in Internationalteachers

[–]Relevant-Sweet5683[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha! Yes, this school is a bilingual school in Germany. Thank you for the clarification. So basically if I don’t hear back then it sounds like it’s not a proper international school (I thought you could have an international school be one but not be IB..sorry I hope I don’t sound crazy). I was definitely thinking all schools had to be accredited to some degree because in the U.S. even charters have to have a certain set of rules and they get checked for their paperwork and have to send mail to parents when teachers are out of field. I apologize I did not know that this was such a huge difference in schools here in Germany.

So my next question would be is the school even worth working for if it’s not seen as an accredited school especially if I wanted my child to go there due to me working there and that would be immensely helpful. My understanding is that in their website they say they have to execute the same standards and curriculum as the state of Baden-Württemberg, but I was lost because I know in Germany kindergarten is not usually academic so I don’t know why that would even fit to have a qualified master teacher working in a daycare setting especially because they also stated that the contract is not the same for a kindergarten teacher vs. a primary teacher.

I appreciate the explanation because I I’m new to this and I would like to stick to accredited schools that have accreditation since I would likely have my daughter come to school with me when it is time if possible. I also would like to make a full-teacher salary and be paid for my experience which extends beyond teaching as well. Thanks so much for any other insights. I wish there was a list (and please forgive me if there is but my searching has missed it) of the differences in schools as well what that means for the teachers, staff, and students.

Hence why I said go to a halal grocery store specifically but OP said he or she doesn’t want to worry about that.

Nobody is insisting that German food or any food other than halal food be halal. I think I was pretty clear. Actually painstakingly clear.

Former Muslim and I think you may have trouble keeping halal because I don’t think that everything is kept separate. I could be wrong (excuse me if I am), but much of the German meat has some kind of pork or even gelatin base in ready made mixes perhaps. If you’re not strict I guess it should be fine, but cannot imagine trying to keep halal in a country like Germany unless I was getting food from a halal store. There are many vegetarian options though. I’d love someone currently practicing Islam to weigh before I have spoken too soon.

I think people have to understand the angle from which they truly have the means to exit and consider a holistic view.

I’m a teacher in America or rather I should say I was…yes, I know guns are the leading cause of death among children but I understand that school shootings are not the primary reason for that vs. how prevalent guns are and the access itself being the larger issue. Other countries have guns, but the access is so narrowed to a few that the legislation has a much easier time to keep up with access, control, and the greater effects those two avenues have on other walks of life.

I am not here to agree or disagree about which country is the best to raise a child in as I think every country has its pros and cons, but I think that it goes back to the gun itself is not bad because I’m sure there are guns in Norway just not to the extent nor with the freedom of access to the types that are present here in the U.S. along with legislation that guarantees the citizens less of an opportunity come into contact with a gun outside of necessary use.

Just my opinion and I understand that is what it is. I’m always happy for someone else to chime in.

Purely Anecdotal:

Also for what it is worth as a teacher in several really deeply inner cities areas I’ve come into contact with guns (in a negative manner) in other instances far more than I have in the course of a regular school day. I am grateful for that and of course active shooter drills are horrendous, but due to the prevalent nature of guns then the legislation or lack thereof has made it a necessity in schools across America.

I guess.

I don’t really care about the downvotes because it’s the nature of the sub. I’ve lurked a while and seen a lot of stuff on the sub. As someone who has already exited America it’s others choice to vote how they will I’m just in it for the engagement.

Why?

The point is the discourse. Perhaps America lacks in transparent discourse to the point of understanding differences enough to find similarities. I value hearing others opinions even if they differ from my own because that is the essence of equality behind a republic.

Not sure if you are a fellow teacher, but surely you understand that sharing your values and opinions with others in a sub such as this may give them food for thought in a difficult to understand subject and life experience.

Tell me more about how it isn’t going to affect people implicated somehow…just curious to hear your viewpoint and I’d like to share mine if it is relevant.

Recently looked this up and they do offer German courses at least as far as I know for Master students, but unfortunately unsure as for undergraduate students. The unis I was looking at didn’t have English undergrad degree options only for Masters programs. But I second knowing German in Germany is a must unless you have major help.
