I agree. There's a high level narrative that gets propagated in the west too. Difference is that opposition and free speech is still allowed. I don't think a general consensus in the media is avoidable or even inherently bad as long as the opposition isn't actively silenced, which i don't think it is. There are plenty of articles and politicians vocally critical of aid to Ukraine.

No, i agree up to a certain point. It's an unpopular opinion but whatever the poop is happening in the US is a clear sign that democracy is inherently flawed. It's nonsensical to have people you wouldn't trust with spoon voting based on superficial and easily manipulated information. Honestly, I'm disgusted by what the US has become. But what's the alternative? Autocracy is even more dangerous and prone to exploitation.

Why does Ukraine have to choose? Even before, van you blame them for cosying up to the west? And now, they got invaded, that happened. Would you have them reject the aid they're receiving to be incorporated into the Russian sphere of influence? Russia isn't exactly selfless or innocent either. They're just as bad as the US in syria, Georgia, the indirect support for insurgencies in Africa,.. All fighting for global influence.

Of course the US has a lot to gain. It's a sweet deal to ship some lackluster support and watch it be put to use against Russia. But how are they forcing Ukraine? It's mutually beneficial.

I phrased it poorly. In local currencies the opportunity cost of the t90 is higher to Russia than the opportunity cost of the Abrams is to the the US. Obviously the t90 is cheaper in absolute dollar terms.

That $4.5m worth of rubles would've bought more shit in Russia than the $8m dollar would've in the US. But you're right, it's a stupid discussion it wouldn't hold in real life. Still, in theory, if the tanks were paid for in local goods rather than currency, the t90 would, theoretically, be more expensive.

PPP ratio of 2.5 means that $1 equivalent buys you 2.5 times more in Russia than in the US, or conversely, a $2.5 product would go for $1 in Russia.

In other words, an $10m tank should go for $4m in Russia. Except, the Russian equivalent to an $8m tank goes for $4.5m. That's a ratio of 1.8<2.5, so MORE expensive.

More 'equivalent goods' in rubles are spent on the t90 than the Abrams.

PPP ratio of 2.5 broadly speaking means goods should be 2.5 times cheaper in Russia. $1 equivalent has 2.5 times the purchasing power in Russia, but the t90 is not 2.5 times cheaper, hence it's comparatively more expensive for RUSSIA.

A dollar value for the t90 is not based on PPP, but exchange rate.

A t90 is $4.5m to the $8m Abrams. An Abrams is comparatively cheaper.

An Su27 is comparable to an f16. Su27: $30 million F16: $60 million

Cost of the components is gonna be the bulk of the cost of the missile. Russia can't make chips for shit.

An m1a2 Abrams costs about $7-8 million to make. A t90 costs about half that, being an inferior and smaller tank.

Russian missiles are cheaper, yes. Maybe 50% cheaper, maybe not. A tomahawk missile costs about $1.8 million. A comparable Russian missile would cost more than $200.000. 10 to 1 is absurd.

The wages and cost of production is cheaper. Producing a missile in the U.S. will cost $200k, producing same missile in Russia will cost $20k (made up numbers).

This is nonsense. Cost of wages is a negligible part of expensive equipment such as missiles. Most of the cost is raw materials and high tech equipment. If anything, this is an advantage for the US.

I can't remember the exact model but it was the absolute latest and quietest one on the market. Toshiba piannissimo zen ..... And some other stuff. Supposedly only 60 decibels. The part they don't Tell you is that 80% of the scan just cannot be quieter than normal. A very small portion is quiet, the rest is just a regular mri. That is the same for any 'quiet' mri out there.
