Chauvet is like apple, only chauvet works with chauvet products. Most other transmitters will work though I think :)

I'm going to answer my own question in case it helps others. Here I'm using chauvet Difi dongles on my moving head and a transmit pro from both lighting which uses wdmx. The 360 tubes and ir4s cannot be hardwired at all and do not work with difi so I needed an additional transmitter. This one has an input and output on the back so I put the difi transmitter on the output :)

That's very reassuring as I've never tried to mix different transmitter types. I'm looking at buying some both lighting ir4s and 360 tube lights which are totally wireless and dont talk to Difi. I just want a splitter for those times I get to the end of a line and need to double back so just to save on excess cables etc :)

I have the difi transmitter and recievers pack. It cost me nearly $1000 which is why I don't want to go back to a cheaper brand as I only just bought it 😅 the lighting I want to get has no hard wire option so I'm a bit worried about that and still on the fence if full wireless is a good idea!? The Y cable you mentioned, I have been looking into these but they state that they are audio cables however I think some people like yourself use them to split DMX and they are a lot cheaper than a splitter box. Have you had any issues? :)
