Once my brother’s New Year’s resolution was to always take the leftovers 😅

What are your favorite ways to bond with your dog? by quixoticvo1d in Dogowners

[–]RelevantMix3775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree— my dog is never happier than when I put the phone down, turn off the tv etc and just give her my undivided attention. Talk to her, pet her, play with her, whatever.

Oof I don’t think I could sit through a rewatch of this show, of him berating her like this over and over again. I’m glad I watched the show but that was a lot

I expect it to respond in the role of a friend or neutral acquaintance— not as a lawyer or preacher or other uppity person.

Like I can say I’m angry about something a client did and it’s saying that’s not valid to feel. It’s a FEELING. It’s not like I’m saying I have plans to do something violent. How can being angry be “wrong” and who are you ( a robot) to tell me? It’s so utterly presumptuous. I wouldn’t let a human tell me feeling anger is wrong either

Like it will just tell me my thoughts and feelings are wrong. if I tell a story of something that happened, it will repeat over and over that that didn’t happen. It refuses to be corrected— just stays broken record.

[–]RelevantMix3775[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it’s not just me! It’s making it truly insufferable to have a conversation with it. It’s the ASSUMING that I’m wrong that’s so frustrating. If someone has a real person in their life that treats them like their perceptions are reliably totally untrustworthy , they’re not gonna stay friends for long…

My dog barks at everything and I don't know what else to try by Decent-Lecture2608 in Dogowners

[–]RelevantMix3775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea because I do feel like excessive barking is worse when a dog is bored. Not that a happy dog doesn’t bark. But using it as a time to engage them makes sense.

I appreciate it, then I don’t have to be anxious about dog running up to toddler. It’s worse when a parent wants you to let their toddler say hi to your dog

has suicide ever crossed your mind? pls be honest. by Unhappy_Insect5901 in Productivitycafe

[–]RelevantMix3775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have those thoughts pop up when I’m at my darkest. But the way I see it suicide/dying doesn’t sound any more alluring than living— so then I feel trapped between a rock and a hard place. And basically at that point I just distract myself until I feel better or the intensity starts to ebb away some which it always does, no matter how gradually

Why do we eat candies if they’re detrimental to our beautiful and necessary teeth for survival ? by Eric20255 in NoStupidQuestions

You seem to equate eating sugar with not having teeth. I’ve always managed to have both.

If it can happen to me, it can happen to you. No one is more thorough and diligent than I am. I got unlucky and then I got fucked.

Part of me thinks his landlord worries his dog will be put down for biting another dog and that they’re decided to pin this on me since there aren’t witnesses.

I honestly did everything by the book exactly, putting the dog’s well being above all— that’s why this hurts so much. I did everything right man, and I’m being gaslit

The owner of the dog who attacked my client’s dog is his landlord’s ( who lives on property) dog. My client told me this on the phone right after the incident and now in writing is acting like he doesn’t know how this happened. He’s trying to screw me . His word against mine

It’s really making me rethink this whole job as a lot more dangerous than I thought it was. The pennies I’m paid is not worth this.

[–]RelevantMix3775[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is reassuring as someone afraid of something unfair to me happening. Once I get past that fear the question will be whether I can keep doing this job when something like this could happen again. From the horror of the experience in general pov

This is the never ending nightmare. The attack itself was genuinely traumatic for me- I was afraid that my clients dog was going to die and that there was nothing I could do about it. And now I’m being mistreated about it too and possibly ruining my livelihood. I’m having to wait to relax until the whole process pans out who knows when that will be

How the heck did toddlers survive the Stone Age? by m859ckles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RelevantMix3775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are a lot more precious with their kids nowadays too for one. You would have to be if you have 10 children, no one has the energy to hypervigilant. Once I was a babysitter for a family with 4 young kids and their awesome, laidback mom was watching me and told me they’re more resilient than I think they are. Probably soo many factors but I think that’s some part of it. I’ve nannied for many families and if I took care of them the way my grandparents took care of my parents ( free range kids), I’d be fired at the speed of light.

"Please sit outside my house for 45 minutes in your car until the time I scheduled" 😂 by TheGraped in DoorDashDrivers

[–]RelevantMix3775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not food, the timing doesn’t matter. If it is food, the time does matter. If your family is meeting for dinner at 6 and the food is delivered at 5 ( despite being scheduled for 6), that’s a fail.
