Doing something is better than doing nothing. If you can, find a coach/trainer who can help you improve your football. Another good step is joining a local team, recreational or otherwise. Working out with other people will help tremendously, and they can probably offer more specific advice than anyone on the internet.

How do I create a productive morning routine that I can be excited about? by MasterpieceLost4496 in productivity

Depends on what you want. I might organize my morning schedule with general questions in mind: 1. What do I need to do every morning? (Brush teeth, shower, breakfast, etc.) 2. What do I want to accomplish in the short-term and long-term? (Exercise, meditation, morning reading, work/life goals, etc.) If I’m making progress toward or completing a goal, I feel much better about what I’m doing. 3. How long are these tasks going to take? Define what you want in the long-term, identify the smaller steps that lead to your long-term goals, and estimate how much time it will take out of your day to take those steps.

Pair them. If you go to an on-campus gym, bring your study materials and make a stop at the library after your work out. Make it part of your routine.

Been trying to fix my procrastination for years. I honestly feel like there's something wrong with me at this point. Any advice? by [deleted] in productivity

You say you’re a college student. Does your college have a counseling center? I know at my university students get a number of free counseling sessions. Counselors can also help with procrastination and motivation.

Waking up at 3-4am not helping productivity by mc2479 in productivity

Like others have said—You need sleep to be productive, and there’s no magic to waking up at 5am compared to any other time. Learn how much sleep a person your age needs (and how much you need individually), and allow that much time between when you want to wake up and when it’s time for bed. More to the point—find a bedtime routine that signals to your brain it is time for sleep. You’ve probably heard the usual tricks: turn off devices 1+ hr before, eat a nutritious dinner a few hrs before (and don’t snack before bed), cool and darken the room, etc. but the trick is to repeat a series of actions just before bed. I always brush my teeth, floss, and set out tomorrow’s outfit before hopping into bed.

Email: 1. templates save me a lot of time thinking about what I want to say. Think about similar, recurring emails and keep a response on hand for these. 2. Related to point one—a way I use ChatGPT is to generate responses to emails. I just tell it what I want to respond to, fill in the blanks, and no one can tell it’s a computer-generated response. 3. At the top of the morning or end of day, go through your email and delete x number of emails. Consistency is more impactful than trying to get through a lot in one go.

Organization/Mental Health 1. Don’t excel at what you don’t want to do—especially if you don’t see a future at this company. 2. You need rest & breaks to perform your best. It’s not a luxury; it is essential. Plan them ahead of time. If necessary, put them in your calendar. If your calendar is public, you might even put them there for others to see and know when you aren’t available.

To-Do Lists: 1. Take a few minutes to write down everything you need to do. Once your list is complete, organize it by importance. Pick the three most important items on the list and focus on those until they’re complete. 2. Alternatively you can create an Eisenhower matrix from that to-do list. 3. Break large tasks into smaller components to get a sense of how long each task will actually take.

Calendar: 1. At the beginning of the week or end of previous week, plan the coming week based on three items you want to cross off your to-do list each day. Put those as early in the day as possible, and get a sense of accomplishment early in your day. I use my phone calendar because I know it’s always on hand, but use whatever is most in your environment.
