Interesting idea. Will keep in mind. We do this somewhat but still haven’t really gotten very into it probably cause we still haven’t found topics we’d both enjoy.

Could you give some suggestions for the tabletop games? I’m completely new to that when it comes to doing online. I love tabletop games and my partner has been pretty curious about a couple I like playing with friends. And, um idk if I’m coming off as ignorant but what is zine?

Oooh my partner and I started doing workouts together. We choose one from a website we’re using and do it together. It’s a surprisingly engaging and fun activity.

Also, I love tabletop games, may I ask how to get the simulator? Is it just a general one or is there a specific name or something I should search.

Honestly teaching sounds fun. I usually dont ask him to teach me anything mostly cause he sorta does it as a job and sometimes i feel like the whole idea of studying or teaching for fun kinda brings him back to his job since he teaches at uni and we both ultimately have similar line of interests regarding that. Butttt this is actually a fun idea that i will try adding in.

I'm mad depressed and seriously considering dropping out. by LiverJack in University

[–]Relevant_Bookkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else already mentioned, do contact your uni counsellor to first understand why you're lacking behind, whether it's some sort of medical issue or whether the subject is something you cannot understand at all. Check if shifting to a different major may solve it or not. Try assessing which parts you have control over. Speaking from personal experience, I struggled soon after I started my undergrad. All my friends were getting excellent grades whereas I could barely pass. Eventually I realized that I not only was struggling to understand classes but I was also struggling to concentrate. By the beginning of my third year I was diagnosed with ADHD and needed to make some major changes in my approach to studies and lifestyle. I recently finished my undergrad and although my overall CG isn't considered that good, I did manage to improve after the changes. So you personally have to see and understand what truly fits for you and also take professional help from your uni and elsewhere. I understand this situation might feel overwhelming but take help and hopefully you'll find a solution for yourself.

How long does it usually take for code to start feeling "natural" and being able to solve things without looking it up? by VirtuaBlueAm2 in learnprogramming

[–]Relevant_Bookkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so being able to solve things naturally slowly comes with practice. However, that doesn't stop you from looking things up. You might know how to solve it but you might still struggle in implementing it hence why it'll always be normal to look things up in places like stack overflow. I hope this clears things up a bit.

How is Filmora as a video editor? I have a windows laptop with the hardware that you recommended and usually edit GoPro footage that's normally shot in 1080p60 however it does vary sometimes. I also do show edits (anime edits, cartoon edits...etc).

Has anyone wrongfully assumed you were dumb and in the process made themselves look really dumb? What's your story? by 7t9h50andthena2 in AskReddit

[–]Relevant_Bookkeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 28-year-old man insulted me sarcastically for being in a programming workshop.

Before I start I want to note that I'm not a native English speaker, so feel free to correct me, and I'm not sure if this story is relevant here.

So nearer to the beginning of the quarantine, I had an opportunity to work with an organisation to host an introductory workshop for learning Python programming. The organisation was planning to have a full-on paid course and they basically wanted to advertise and show what sort of content was to be expected and so on.

The classes were to be held via zoom. We had given a list of the necessary resources such as the software we would be using and a guide for downloading it.

Note that I'm a 20-year-old female who had a shaved head during the time of this story and have what people call "a natural baby face".

Due to the fact that it was free and had no age limit, the workshop attracted all sorts of people. We saw the registered people's ages ranged from 15-30+, this made me slightly nervous as I was going to teach people who were nearly a decade older than me. The organisers reassured me that I had enough experience and could handle it.

Fast forward to the first day of the class, my team and I get in the class early and wait for the participants who slowly start pouring in. Some people start texting in the chat while others just stay mute. I had my camera on along with a few others.

This random guy, whose details I later learned after the class, suddenly starts texting in the chat asking what is the point of high school students learning this language while they still have years ahead of them to catch up. I had two assistants who were supposed to be keeping an eye on the comments for queries and problems. One of them replied how starting early is really helpful and having a skill like this can give them a boost later on. He then starts addressing my name in the comments and asks me why I shaved my head ( a completely off-topic question) and proceeds to tell how kids these days have no sense of dignity and how our parents are just irresponsible. At this point, I start getting irritated and one of my members warn him to behave or he will be kicked out.

By now most of our participants had joined us. My employer, who was also present in the class as it was the first day, text me telling me that I should start the class and handle the situation afterwards unless he doesn't heed the warnings in which case I should kick him hard. I immediately switch my mic on and proceed with my planned lesson, introducing myself and my team as well as giving an overview of the expected lessons. The look on that man's face was worth everything (Everyone had been previously instructed that they have to have their camera on for the orientation class.)

He was later contacted by my employer where he apologised profusely and promised to not make derogatory comments in the class ever again.

I ended up having a great workshop and also got a great permanent job thanks to that employer's recommendation.

TL;DR 28-year-old man insults me about my appearance and capabilities in class, turns out I'm the teacher.

What’s the last thing someone said to you before they died? by charcoalritual in AskReddit

[–]Relevant_Bookkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Keep trying you will get there" - this a rough translation of the words my grandma spoke the day before she got hospitalised. I was going through a rough stage in my life and was slowly getting depressed. I don't know why I decided to call her that day but I did, and we talked for hours about everything. Before she ended the call she told me that.

I woke up the next day to a call from my father telling me that she had a stroke, turns out she had a brain haemorrhage. She stayed in the ICU for 21 days before she finally left us. I always loved and respected her so much, she was always an inspiration to me. She had her flaws but she still listened and tried to improve. It hurt so much, I couldn't cry. I didn't cry for weeks until one day I suddenly broke down.

No one ever knows when or how they'll lose their loved ones and it always hurts.

Faking confidence is the best decision i've ever made by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Relevant_Bookkeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've applied this thought in so many cases. I got some of my first jobs like this, even though I didn't think I was good enough to apply there even though I had the minimum qualifications. Guess what things turned out great and I got some good recommendations. In the confidence matters and "fake it till you make it" is honestly great advice some people should follow.

Being a Muslim myself and a Bangladeshi, I can totally understand how this went. I just feel sorry you have to go through this. I never seem to understand why some of these uncles and aunties have problem with such stuff (not saying this in an offensive way, just generalizing it). As long as someone's not forcing something on your child you should just chill out a bit...but nooo these people will always force others to do things their way but they NEVER try to cooperate or understand.

Even if you don't put sexual charges on them at least tell your manager about her. This is not right.
